Another new destroyer [img heavy]
But it's not what you think, I promise ;)

This time, it's Vasudan, from the ground up.  I'll post textured pics when I have them, barring major changes.

Looks interesting.  Maybe a wee bit underdetailed, tho - it may look a bit bland depending on how you texture it.

Don't like the front opening, though.  Doesn't look 'right' to me.

I actually like the front, not enough ships have BIG fighterbays

That would be a gun.  It should be yellow, but I needed to map it while working on it (symmerty issues) and didn't have a yellow version of that texture nearby.  I'm really thinking about closing it up and mounting the turret somewhere that actually gives it a field of fire.  But don't worry about the detail, it's not my first Vasudan design :)

Smallish update, original pics updated.

It is definitely reminiscent of the Apothesis class destroyer from Inferno.  I don't suppose you plan on making the "blade" things on the front, a rotating sub-object like on the Apthesis?

As far as the other models you showed images of, what was that first one, the one we see from the underside?  I'd like to see more of that ship.  What state is it in?

I like, although I think the bigger wings would be nicer if they were swept further back instead of being so wide.

Ooooooooooh....

Vasudan ships = good. Always. I like the design of this. It looks like a sensible evolution of the Hatshepsut. I agree it looks similar to the big beam destroyer from Inferno, but it's better IMO. Dunno about the superbeam thingy though - I've never really liked the idea. It's not flexible, and makes it very vulnerable in defensive situations....

That all depends on how the rest of the ship is armed.  The primary cannon is supposed to be about 3-5 times more powerful than the side beams, because it can be scaled up more effectively in part (spine-mounted, easier to design space around), but also because the hull won't mount many (if any) other main beams in a position that can fire directly forward.

That other ship is a Vasudan cruiser.  The top looks like the bottom, less the opening.

I don't like the big cross in the front. The Big x in the original image. It's... too much like a mirrored Hatshepsut. Not a fan of it. Nope. Not at all. Nope. Nope. *continues with the incessant ramblings*

The body's not all that bad, though.

I like it a lot.  It's got a really aggressive frame, and looks like a punisher.

BTW: In that four-pic post, ("That would be a gun") Are the two middle ships public release?

Unfortunately, other than the last of those ships I posted up earlier, none have been converted.  I did dig up the cruiser though, and have more renders of it, as well as a heavier variant that I may settle on instead.

This is another bump I know, but I promised a proper update on the destroyer.

And the complete fleet with proportions.  This is why I need someone with MAX 5 who can get Styxx's plugin to work to help me with conversion.

ok, top or bottom then?  Those textures are overused already, so I'm trying to use something a little different (though I'm limited by the Cairo windows texture variant for the main hull)
