Hi,

I have searched but found nothing.  Is there a way to turn inverted mouse off?

Thanks a lot!

i dont think so

my opinion is that anyone who claims to be a flight-sim fan yet flies with mouse inverted (what you would call uninverted) should be shot :)

on a more helpful note, i THINK theres an option for it right in the middle of the options menu, but then again...

I've been playing eith it uninverted for years now in other games (including other space sims) and having to play it inverted just feels unnatural to me.

Hmmmmmmmmm..... Theres something in the Options section for 'Invert' but I'm not sure how it works. I've never really played on mouse, either keyboard or joystick for me I'm afraid.

i always use an inverrted mouse. its so unnatural for me to leave it normal. id like to have freelancer style mouse control though.

You can invert whichever axis you want.  Mouse X should already be bound to "Turn (Yaw) Axis" in the ships control config, Mouse Y on "Pitch Axis".  There is an invert button along the bottom which you can use on either or both of them.

think it would be possible to bind mouse buttons independand of joystick? also be cool to be able to bind the mouse weel to throttle and include support for extra buttons.

Yeah I'm working on that but it will probably be after Christmas before I finish.  Some minor interface changes are need too since we have to list three controls rather than two.  I'm was already planning to bump the button count as well since it only uses 3 now and that sucks with newer mice that have more buttons.  Not sure about the mouse wheel, it's basically used like two buttons and I'm not sure if making it work properly for the throttle is possible yet.

just get a joystick. a decent one is only like $20, which is very cheap compared to other PC hardware.

Have a Saitek, never got used to joysticks either.  But I found what I needed to do to invert stuff.

Thanks for the welcome!

What I did was goto Options>Controles/Ship Controles/Clicked Pitch axis/hit the Invert button at very bottom.  I missed this the first time.

Definitely invert the mouse.  Carry-over from Descent for me (that and I use the joystick occasionally).  With 6 buttons on my mouse (and a mousewheel... I wish I could bind the wheel for targetting) and some of them also bounded to the guidance, I'm able to partially negate the advantage a joystick has while retaining the precision control a mouse affords.

I can also have the entire keyboard for my other hand =)

Same here before I got my HOTAS set up, used to be a heavy Decent/FPS player so I simply inverted the mouse and used it combined with the keyboard.

You can invert it! It's hidden well but press F2 while in game, then find the controls screen, click Ship and then click on Vertical/Y-axis, then click the "Invert" button to enable axis invertion. They could have made it easier to find but it can be done.

*shrug* for any game i play (arcade, FPS, flight sim, anything) i always play with down-is-up, up-is-down mouse inversion. its so much easier. i cant get used to it being 'normal'.

meh. to each their own.
