This new Dell XPS gaming rig is hawt... no, really!
SERIOUSLY...! | {The Sandvich Bar} - Rhino-FS2 Tutorial | CapShip Turret Upgrade | The Complete FS2 Ship List | System Background Package

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

It sure looks nice and apparently there is also one LED in the backplate which should help plugging in cables in dark corners of eart... room.

Dell has always been expert at thermal engineering

Yes, I'm sure their early power laptop users would agree...

I don't like it. It looks like a giant heater, and would certainly be on the floor beside the desk if I was going to get one. And with that many obnoxious blue LEDs, you could do away with your Christmas tree and forget about ever sleeping with it switched on in your room.

Yeah, case LEDs can become very annoying very fast. However, backplate LEDs could be very useful, assuming you can at least plug power cord first.

do not torment the sleep deprived artist, he may be vicious when cornered,
in case of emergency, administer caffeine to the artist,
he will become docile after that,

"Experts" at thermal engineering?  My Optiplex 280 with a single fan that revs like a jet turbine whenever something processor-intensive is going on begs to differ.

When it comes to desktops I say "build your own"
When it comes to laptops I say "leave it to the experts"
But that's just me.

There are several larger pictures of that case floating around on the internet. It actually looks pretty neat, although I'll still take my stacker over it easily. As for the "experts at thermal engineering" comment, the less said the better.

*agrees whole-heartedly*

*and wishes he was good/expert enough to build his own laptop*

Did you attach the included airfoil to it?

Nah, it clashed with my room decor.  The landing lights on each speaker go very nicely, though. :p
