Yeah, I screwed myself up. I was messing around with the 'custom flags' field and I by mistake entered --spec_point instead of -spec_point. Neither the Launcher nor FS2_Open itself works. When I start up the launcher, it said what I would expect it to have, "Unrecognized command line parameter, --spec_point, continue?". I clicked OK so that I could just delete the first hyphen, but it just went to the classical 'Oh no Launcher.exe has encountered fatal error we're going to shut it down. Send us a letter telling us about it so we can fix it.' (I clicked don't send letter cause Microsoft has no idea what FS is anyway). Then I get "Failed to read flag file". When I start FS2_Open itself, it displays some errors. However, if I click my way through the warnings, FS works fine. However, I can't change any of my settings properly becase the Launcher won't start properly

Any help would be appreciated.

Have a look in the folder where Freespace is installed, you whould be able to see a file called lanucher6.ini, open in notepad, edit to remove the - save.

Hopefully the launcher should then work correctly

In fact that was the first thing I did when the error happend. Nothing changed.

Oh, it should also be worth noting that I was playing Inferno at the time.

Try removing the launcher6.ini and flags.lch and restart the launcher
Do not meddle in the affairs of coders for they are soggy and hard to light
