I went through a number of the oft-used hook variable management functions. Apparently the bug was that I missed cleaning up one variable on the Lua stack. The calls to those functions are so numerous per frame that it overloaded the Lua stack and caused the CTD. Includes all the updates mentioned in this thread.Other than that, the only new thing in this build is the FRED UI improvement (numbered arguments) and the minihelp box. Warning: this build will corrupt your pilot filesIt's based off of HEAD, which has code in it which is known to corrupt pilot files. I don't know if I last updated my local codebase after the corrupted code went in; but for now, I would assume so. I don't know when the bad pilot file code is going to be fixed. Download this build

As long as you made Scripting.tbl unnesseary, it will work.
it works without scripting.tbl, good work.

The loading order...
Is a bit ...
the wrong way
I have Lightspeed nebulae, and the FS2 stock missions who use the Lightspeed nebulae, using this build, the standard missions/backgrounds load, when using the stable build, everything works fine.

Le horreur.... Goober ist human!! Aaaaa! We are doomed! Give it a rest, it's funny, that's all. Now, I should be a real nutso, and hit the "report to moderator" button on his post and say its spam, so the moderator will have to warn gooby not to spam. erg, I was just making a joke, a little spam is good.... err, I think. It's just Goober was the last person I expected it from. Oh, and this is all spam anyways... so, back on topic.. some sort of build, right?

I was going to write a long explanation about the forum bug that resulted in that little exchange but in the end I decided it's going to be much more fun to watch VC start up his little vendetta a second time and get hit with the Hammer of Justice again.

VC thinks everyone has it out for him. That's the way it appears. Anyway, if I make a silly post, it's just one post. Not a page-and-a-half full of useless off-topic-ness.

Someone seriously needs to get the chip off their shoulder... And yes, everyone Spams from time to time, I know I do, and that's on Forums I moderate, there's nothing wrong with the odd offhand joke, I actually enjoy that as long as it's done intelligently. The kind of Spam that will get threads locked is ' :someotherstupidsmiley: '. And the people who do that don't need me to tell them who they are.

Question is, where do you have the files?
as those files are vp's, in the mediavps folder, wich is loaded. It works with 3.6.9., it doesn't work with this (and the previous) head build.

Yeah. I thought so. It is due to the order in which textures are loaded being changed.
Simply change the name of the nebula VP to be alphabetically before adv_effects.vp and you should get them back.

What happened again? I was out of the loop.

Nothing special. No one could post on this forum unless it was a poll.
