I know you people are bisy and have probably heard it before but, i was wondering if it is possable to create, some sort of a gas weapon that when a rocket fires and explodes it leaves some sort of gas behind, that damages any ship that flys in to it, depending on what class and how long they stay there.
IDEA:
1)Rocket Explodes
2)PCX(whatever image file you use) images apear like the nebular effect (overlayed over each other randomly) but in a set radius.
3)when your ship or an enemy flys into it, it damages there hull a fraction of a % each millisecond there in there.
4)other effects could be, it slows down your/enemy ship, EMP, TAG, destroys missiles when fired in to it, ect....
5)the gas starts to disipate after a few seconds, and gets more transparrent and less deadly untill its gone...
this tecnique could also be aplyed to astroyed field misions, replace the astroyeds with "Pockets" of drifting harmful nebular gas.
new anti nebular gas weapon idea:
to destroy the pockets of nebular gas floating towards your escort ship you could fire a new type of missile that, decays the gas. (possably replaceing the PCX files with ANI files of the gas changing color and decaying rapidly)
