The main change in this is one is to fix a bug in the joystick detection code that made it not get the correct joystick name on some systems.  Hopefully the new joystick code should work well for everyone now.

The original plan was to skip moving the Launcher over, and for the moment at least, that's still the idea.  The reason is simply that we have 3 of them, they each look and work differently, and it's a serious pain.  We need to get rid of them all and stop wasting our resources on things that are going to be replaced before the year is out.

When the new cross-platform launcher shows up we can put that one in SVN since at that point it will be easier on everyone.  The current launcher code is either going to stay where it is (as long as we can keep it there), or move somewhere else (like SF or Google, or something).  We would only move it to icculus.org as a last resort.

That is a setting in each individual build exe, not the Launcher.

But it doesn't matter anyway since the option has since been removed.  It stopped being experimental a while ago, but it really shouldn't even be an option at this point either.  The only purpose it serves now is to allow mods to get away with screwed up image formats, so this should provide the needed encouragement to get their artwork fixed.

I ask cause I've been trying to commit EaterOfPies change to the speech tab to CVS and it keeps bouncing me out saying I don't have write access any more. I assumed that this was cause it was still locked in order to allow us to move it over to SVN.

you dont. it works automatically if you have the track ir dll, a track ir build, and the track ir software running in the background (and you need to update its games list).

cockpits are mod dependent. i suggest trying nukemod, its got some cockpits you can mess with. the phoenix, chimera, sepulture, shagrath, and satyr all have cockpits.
