I have a problem with screenshots in FS2_open. When I hit printscreen (screenshot key), the screen stops for a almost unnoticable ammount of time, so I guess it should be ok... and then I check the screenshots folder, and there are ALL of my screenshots... But all of them have 2305 bytes and are black... That's really uncomfortable, cause sometimes I had pretty shots... and I had to paste them into Paint...

Any help guys?

(3.6.9 and 3.6.10 builds, with mods, without mods, every graphic option maximized (sp?) new mediavps and old mediavps... still the same problem.)

What are your system specs?  Operating system? Keyboard type/layout?  Screen resolution/colors?

I vaguely recall seeing something like this ages ago but can't remember the specifics.  Might have even been in retail.

Hmm. I had this problem once before. What video mode are you running?

It would be good to post what you have in your command line as well. :)

Well 3.6.10 would force OpenGL.  The keyboard could be a possibility but there are only 2 ways to determine that.  Replace the keyboard or find someone else that has the same problem with the same keyboard layout.

Running debug and posting the fs2_open.log from the data directory would give the command line options and settings.

One other thing just hit me.  Do you have any kind of screen capture software installed?  I think this may have been where I saw this before.  Used a screen capture software to allow printing of any page on the screen at work .

I don't have such software.
In custom commandline I have -fov 0.39 -ambient_factor 75 -spec_exp 11.
I checked everything in the setup that could give me better graphics. I think my pals from Poland (Shiv) don't have such problem.

Disabling custom tags didn't help, and neither did changing to 3.6.9

I use IrfanView - but it doesn't matter -> all of the screenshots have the same exact size

yeah, no success.

Are you leaving IrfanView open while playing?  It has a built in screen capture function.

If it's not open or closing it doesn't help you could always try using it for screen captures.  It would be better to find out what the problem actually is in case it happens to someone else though.

So, if I leave IrfanView open while playing, then make a shot, will it be saved somewhere, or can I do only one shot?

That wouldn't really help at all.

The only thing I can think of is that  it's a driver issue, because I had this problem once as well on a GeForce 7300 after I updated its drivers to something else.

Hm, I found doing screenshots by Irfan very comfortable so I guess that would be the best solution (at least for me). And my drivers are good for everything, so upgrading it for "shooting" isn't really a solution :)

Thanks for help, anyways!

Cheers
