Is there anyone here fluent in newspeak? I know only a few words like, doubleplusungood and unpersons.

I have a plan, you see, all those who know newspeak can post in it and confuse other people 'till they're rolling on the floor trying to eat the back of their heads, or something.

Petrarch, I think the only person properly fluent in Newspeak is George Orwell, and somehow I don't think he'd be frequenting this board. Otherwise, anyone who would claim to be fluent is just making up the words, which is easy to do :p

I'd hardly be suprised if he were even so, considering the psychological states of some people who already frequent here.

The internet comes with its own version of the tongue. Use of the old kind online would be utterly superfluous. And, though the online variety may be unintentional in origin, it seems to have a quite similar effect on the mind.

Yeah, i read 1984 last year, but i never bothered reading the explantation of newspeak at the end, so i'll just stick to proper english.
Personally im glad most people here choose to use real english and punctuation, ive seen a lot of boards just turn to babble when some people use abreviated language.

But then you have to wonder about someone who calls himself "Petrarch of th VBB". News flash, guy. MOST of us are of the VBB. It's kind of a given. Nobody cares.
