Quickdraw and Vindicator downloaded.

Will have to make textures and texture them - this is for me the most boring and time consuming work.

Answers to your Q:

- Yes, head weapon is counted as Center torso weapon.
- load index is not used in game - ignore it.
- MechPart number is the number of the mech icon in icons file.

Mc2res.dll has:
Vindicator - 34033
Quickdraw - 33093

Both of your models are missing parts (3ds files)

Vindicator - left_upper_arm and both lower_legs
Quickdraw - Right_gun, both lower_legs and right_foot

Please export at least one Lower_leg for each mech.
Arms and feet can be duplicated from the opposite side.

What the crap?  :confused: How did those subobjects not get exported?

I blame Wings' export code for this. I'll fix the problem this evening.

Well, I'm home a lot earlier than I thought I'd be.

So I figured out what the problem was. The names for each of the submodels was too long, and the converter was truncating them to 10 characters, which led to a lot of overlap (and thus some of them got ignored during the conversion process).

The models shouldn't be missing any parts now.

So Magic, what all is needed for the shadow model? Is it just a lower-poly (<300 tris as you said earlier) version of the existing model, or does it need to be a weird flattened thing in order to work properly with the engine?

Shadow model is the same model just lowered number of polys to max. For example, Vindicator head, just plain sphere with as less polys as possible.

Is that Dervish, final?

Gotcha, so just a lower LOD. I'll put together some shadows for the models I've already done, then.

Here's a Vindicator shadow for ye. :)

Also, quick question on the CSVs, is there a limit to the number of variants? The most I see in a CSV is 5 (on the Jägermech).

- Vindicator completed model and shadow,
- Dervish completed model and shadow,
- Quickdraw completed model and shadow.

Please pack all 3 (final versions) of them in one file.
I will do the texturing. Will use textures from the existing mechs, cant make new, it requires too much time...

Quickdraw doesn't have a shadow or icon done yet. I'll do that later and pack it all together.

Stinger and Wasp models, shadows, and CSVs complete. Next up is the Hermes II (CSV already complete), then the Clint/Clint IIC (nearly identical models really, I figure if I'm doing the former I might as well do the latter).

I have just been looking at Dervish.3ds and the Wings 3d Dervish file. I can see that I have some distance to go before I am completely ready to attempt something like these pictures. Excellent work from what I see. Are these typical of what needs to be done for adding a new mech to MCO?

Phoenix Hawk done, because it's 4:30 AM and I'm too tired from my new job to try to break through my Hermes II-related modeler's block at the moment. As you can see I reused a lot of Wasp parts, which is rather appropriate when you think about it.

Also, Magic, did you get the Wasp and Stinger I sent you?
