Whenever I try to start the new TBP it freezes on the opening screen. Anybody that could explain whats going on?

Run a debug build of FSOpen and see what it says.

Where can I download a debug version???

Debug versions of the build have the _d flag in the name rather than _r (for release). I'd be somewhat surprised if you don't have a debug version sitting in your TBP folder already. Just press the browse button in the launcher and look for it.
