Six years ago right now the southeast US was in the thick of its worst tornado outbreak in recorded history. A total of 300+ lives would be lost from around 3:30pm to Midnight.

I don't think I've ever been as sick as I was yesterday.

I spent almost all day in bed, alternating between uncontrollable sweating and full-body chills. I would get up only to either cough up a glob of gray lung-goop or force myself to drink some fluids, and every time I did I was dizzy and my limbs were all sort of numb.

I finally got a new job and just signed the papers for it. I got backstabbed and fired late last year by some complete bastards who put on a show of pretending to be my friends, but have ended up with a much better job, so it turned out well in the end. It's my fourth job in the last four years, but should be a good opportunity and something I can do for at least 2-3 years, maybe longer.

I just had (or still have) something vaguely like this, but not nearly as severe.  It started as a ridiculous allergy attack yesterday (seriously, the trees were flat-out snowing pollen), but then I woke up this morning feeling like a truck had hit me.

I'm watching the water slowly rise in my back yard.  It's been raining for the last 9 hours or so and is supposed to continue for several days.  I guess I won't mow today.
Maybe someday God will give you a little pink toaster of your own.

So we finally went to the Gene’s Chinese Flatbread Cafe Woburn location on lunch break...

Definitely rates a slot on the "It's a good day to die food experience" list.

If you're in Massachusetts there are locations in Boston, Woburn and Chelmsford.

Xi'an region hand-pulled noodles, seriously make it happen.

Aaand yet another week with a major infrastructure snafu that ****s up production.

And where cleaning up said snafu takes way longer that it should due to the client panicking and taking actions that are either unhelpful or risk making things worse...

Consider yourself there aren't combat sappers on board otherwise the coolant would be used to chill drinks without your knowledge while the ballast tanks would be used to carbonate them.

"coolant" is a relative term, also ballast is for tubes, I work on ships.

In other news, just got back home from Carolina Rebellion.  ALMOST got backstabbed again, my leave form was 'lost' and only some emergency phone calls and shift scrambling saved my approved-a-month-and-a-half-ago long weekend.  That would have definitely lead to a discussion with the division head.  Which really I need to have anyway.  Not as good as last year, and once again all my friends suck and I went by myself again (though I didn't bother trying very hard this time), but I only thought about work like once so I guess it did its job.  I'm only mildly annoyed about going in tomorrow instead of shaking with barely contained rage.

I had a dream last night in which I appear to have invented table-top Populous. Apparently the game is played on a pair of sand tables with Monopoly houses and hotels. You throw handfuls of sand (i.e sandstorms) at your opponents houses to build up mana for more impressive disasters like tidal wave (pour a glass of water onto the table) and earthquake (kick the leg of the table).

It amazes me how somebody will drop 100k for a small lot on a lake and then proceed to put a 300k house on it with a 30k boathouse.

My sister in law pointed this out to me yesterday. If you want to know how stupid companies think the average comsumer is, for a limited time only you can buy a pack of Nabiscos "cookies and cream" flavored Oreos. Think about that for a minute.

Wondering when avatars became available for everyone to use here on HLP...   :o

EDIT: Cool.
