[nitpick]Shouldn't the title read 56k users beware, not 64k?[/nitpick] :nervous:
It's been adjusted for inflation. :nervous:

Re: HLP Carl Pictures (64k users beware)
I went through all my pictures of this event earlier today and uploaded them here:

Wow...Those models are really impressive.  What's that Final Horror made out of though?  It doesn't look like it uses any Lego pieces I've ever seen.  I wish I had the resources to build stuff like that... :jaw:

There have been some squid-like sets released with those pieces, like the Ogel subs in the Alpha Team line.

Anyone tried to make a brick version of Carl yet.  Life size would be neat.
No-one ever listens to Zathras. Quite mad, they say. It is good that Zathras does not mind. He's even grown to like it. Oh yes. -Zathras

You guys look totally different than what I thought. I figured you were all guys who just sat around, Lurking on Hard-Light, and build Shivan models, and build LEGO stuff all day... wait.

Seriously, GREAT job on all that. I wish I could have gone.

CP5670's Black Hole reminds me of the 07a "Anubis" The Order Very Heavy Fighter from Freelancer. The kids in the background looked very interested in it. :)

Oh, and by the way, Happy 22nd Birthday, CP! :D

When I saw it I shat bricks. Impressive yet not-as-geeky as comic conventions.

Thanks. :)

That generic three-wing shape is used in many places, but you're right. It was attracting a lot of attention in the space area due to its height, which made it noticeable from a distance.

Where did the real Carl go?
"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside

Re: HLP Carl Pictures (64k users beware)
Ooooooooooooh $50 USD is definitely a possibility for me once the exchange rate is fixed after this recession. The aussie dollar sucks at the moment, which really isnt fun when you do a lot of shopping on eBay.

And i seem to remember reading in another thread regarding Carl that there was delay in the chain...which was a possibly so he could be painted?

EDIT: Heres where I read it.

http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,56002.msg1172522.html#msg1172522
But it wasnt mentioned where that current location was. If its not to do with painting, maybe Carl got stolen??

Ooh, pretty. I just remembered that LEGO railroads aren't common in Singapore.

If I were the train driver and I saw a Shivan on the roof, I'll be scared to the point of pants-wetting. :shaking:

I thought this thread was already dead.
