Hello Hard Light Productions,

This is the very first time I post to these forums, so my apologies in advance for any breach in protocol.

I just wanted to let the members of the FreeSpace community know that Revival Productions has launched its Kickstarter campaign for Overload, a six-degree of freedom shooter. Here's a link to the page: http://kck.st/1o2XmtY

Revival Productions is Mike Kulas (founder of Volition), Matt Toschlog (who founded Parallax with Mike), and former Volitionites Luke Schneider (aka Radian Games) and Chris Claflin.  A few of us at Volition are also helping out, including Adam Pletcher and myself.

I'm not sure how much cross-over there is between Descent and FreeSpace players, but I thought that maybe you'd be interested in learning more about this game.

Woah! So that's what Mike's "secret project" was. It looks very cool, thanks for posting about it!

(and you've got Dan doing the music as well, and yourself doing the story, very awesome!  My biggest issue now is stopping my enthusiasm running away with me)

Nice to see people from :v: on HLP. First a new Descent, maybe you'll make a spiritual successor of FS2 next? :) Mission-based space sims are coming back, so it'd be nice to have a well written entry in this category (not to mention on that comes with a mission editor :) ).

I'm watching Overload, but see the other thread about it for my concerns over design philosophy.

Saw some info about this a while ago. Cool to see some of the Descent/FreeSpace team doing something again! There is definitely quite a bit of crossover in the fanbases from everything I've seen. I'm glad to see 6DOF coming back, especially with you guys working on it again!

- Ongoing analysis of games through video segments
- A short campaign inspired by a certain command briefing animation

Woah :D! It makes me thinking about all the uber cool Descent III levels I enjoyed as a kid. It reminds me charging my Fusion against final boss, smashing robots with Black Shark missile, and epic outro.

And yes. I want to experiance all of this again! Goodluck with Overload, guys. I wish I could contribute, but... I'm broke :P. So far I can say that I can't wait to play this!

I'll always have your guys backs for stuff like this, and you have my $150 for this.

(BTW, as a side note. When done with this, should Revival Productions decide to make a completely new game about humans and a race of desert dwelling aliens who humans had originally been at war with that formed an alliance against a race of super-death-aliens long ago, who cut off earth from the rest of the universe, blew up the desert alien's home world, and blew up a star the second time they were encountered. You know, a completely new IP unrelated to any existing IP that is... something along those lines. You would have my axe and bow and money for that as well. possibly an order of magnitude more so than this time.)

(ALSO BTW, just FYI I am on the Linux platform, I see you are supporting me :yes: )
