Title: Quick Mainhall Question
Post by: Black Wolf on July 02, 2017, 10:56:28 am
Do you render your mainhalls at 1024x768, or render them at a widescreen resolution and compress the image down to 1024x768 so the aspect will look right on most monitors? If the latter, what resolution do you render at? I'm thinking 1920x1080, but if you've worked out a standard res, I'd be interested to maintain consistency, and I don't have any to check right now (plus it might be a question others have in future, so good to get it onto the boards).

The main hall screen supports full resolution now. (Yay!)

The BtA main hall is rendered and displayed at 1920x1080. Take a look at that table to see how it's done.

I do intend to render my other main halls at the higher resolution, but just haven't gotten around to it yet because it's a lot of work.

One other quick question - when you right click on the FS2 and BtA mainhalls, the cursor cycles around the various buttons. I can;t figure out where to set those points to which the cursor  jumps, and it's currently jumping around randomly in (I think) the Vasudan mainhall positions.

Any hints?

IIRC, it uses the second coordinate set for each clickable area (+door coords:) to place the mouse and just cycles through those.

Ah, yeah, that works. I assumed that second coord was for the lower right hand corner. Works great now, thanks. :)
