Well handy thread I made should help with making what little sense there is for JAD and version numbers. In any case, all JADs are good for any recent build. JAD:XA needs 2014 mediavps, while the rest need 3.6.12 mediavps. I will eventually get everyone up to 2014 mvp levels!

Minor update:

http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=87904.0

There's been a title change to the thread containing Cyborg17's update of "The Aftermath".  I retitled it from a thread asking for an update to the campaign into a defacto release thread for the campaign.

So far, not many people have stepped up for the list itself and testing. Just one, to be precise. I could always use more help. ;)

Updated the Aftermath,
added Sol: A History
Will look into the patch for WoD

And thanks for the link Axem, will implement that as soon as I have a another sliver of time.
And after I have been made aware of it again, Shadows of Kraken is now also on the list. Hah!

Re: [WIP] Sarkoth's epic quest for a complete currently working campaign list.
Implemented a few more updates.

Do we have any accurate list (at least for some campaigns) on how many missions which campaign has? The database on the wiki is dodgy at best in regard to that.

I couldn't really go far with testing in the last two weeks due to family issues, but I should pick up the pace soon again.

It certainly is! I don't know of any good list, you're probably stuck with something like; open the .vp and check the .fc2, or press CTRL-SHIFT-S in the mission simulator to see how many missions there are in a campaign.

Re: [WIP] Sarkoth's epic quest for a complete currently working campaign list.
You listed in your campaign list that you are having problems with the campaign Tango.  It is a FSPort campaign and has no special ships or weapons.  If you are getting 13 ship class errors with all and any (even without) mediavps, spawning in an Ulysses with no weapons, there is something wrong with the mod.ini file.
It should work without any problems as long as the mod.ini is set right.
Mod.ini should say:
secondarylist = fsport-mediavps, fsport, MediaVPs_2014;
Normal people believe that if it isn't broke, don't fix it. Engineers believe that if it isn't broke, it doesn't have enough features yet.

Macfie, I tried that and I still got the 13 ship errors notice for "Tango".

FSOpen log is attached.

Code: [Select]
Passed cmdline options:
  -mod tango
Building file index...
That is clearly not using a mod.ini containing the line Macfie just stated, or you forgot to re-select the mod in the launcher.

Re: [WIP] Sarkoth's epic quest for a complete currently working campaign list.
I selected "Tango" in the launcher

and "secondarylist = fsport-mediavps, fsport, MediaVPs_2014; " was a line in my mod.ini

I just checked all of that.

Re: [WIP] Sarkoth's epic quest for a complete currently working campaign list.
The only working download link for "Tango" I could find (freespacemods) did not come with a mod.ini file in the downloaded folder.  I had to put a blank one in and copy that line in.  That line is there.

Besides that line...what should the entire mod.ini file for "Tango" look like?

Re: [WIP] Sarkoth's epic quest for a complete currently working campaign list.
With some help from another forum I was able to at least start the game.

However, after starting the first mission I noticed another important problem:   it starts both my wingman and I in Ulysses and with no primary or secondary weapons.

That's pretty much why I added it to the broken list guys. If someone does know how to make it work properly without rewriting anything in the VP itself, I'll correct it ASAP.

Thanks niffiwan, that IS actually something I didn't know you could do. At some point I will just blitz through the mission simulator counting missions. Although today shall not be that day. But I'm looking forward to be able to provide information to enable us to properly update the wiki afterwards. Compatibility will always change with progressing builds, but missions numbers, for example, do not. =)

Re: [WIP] Sarkoth's epic quest for a complete currently working campaign list.
CT27 there is something wrong with your command line.
It reads -mod fsport-mediavps,tango,fsport-mediavps,fsport,MediaVPs_2014;
It should be -mod tango,fsport-mediavps,fsport,MediaVPs_2014;
I just played Tango last night without any problems.  I have it in a folder with some other FreeSpace 1 campaigns with just one mod.ini file for the entire folder.

The file has:
[launcher]
image255x112 = FSPort.bmp;
infotext     = A number of campaigns that use the FSPORT.;

[multimod]

secondarylist = fsport-mediavps,fsport,MediaVPs_2014;

I understand from this thread http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=49267.40 that CT27 got it to work by starting with a new pilot

Re: [WIP] Sarkoth's epic quest for a complete currently working campaign list.
Macfie,

In your secondary list line near the end of your post, shouldn't it be "MediaVPs_2014" instead of just "mediavps"?

Yes it should read MediaVPs_2014.  Copy paste error on my part.

Re: [WIP] Sarkoth's epic quest for a complete currently working campaign list.
This is perhaps a minor detail question, but is the mod.ini case sensitive?

In other words, for the 2014 mediavps, is putting "mediavps_2014" as acceptable as "MediaVPs_2014" (which is what I usually see posted)?

It's as case-sensitive as the filesystem it's used on.
