Good evening folks! :)
I was not completely happy with my last GAUSS turret. So made this one which I like better.

This one also comes with a cockpit which can be manned or left in auto mode.

Manned turrets, makes me think of gameplay possibilities for the player. Normally I don't quite like 'turret-sections' but with Freespace I can think of several good moments and reasons to have them in. Now we just need a easy method of switching between ships, a little like JAD did... *Heads to the drawing board*

The model looks good already, Jadehawk. It seems so far everything I've seen from you makes me look forward to see completed and working in game. It would also be good to see variations on the design based on what weaponry it uses, such as flak and primaries such as Maxims.

I could see the GAUSS cannons switched out for Laser cannons very easily :) Maxims are like a GAUSS cannon in which the projectile is accelerated via electro-magnets correct? Could introduce a variation on that too.
