Basically we need folks who are good players, who can test missions on all difficulty levels and who know their way around the tables.
When finished with playing the few "test" missions, its expected of you to write up a short summary of the experience and what should and what shouldnt be changed.
If you feel like you could provide the TAP team in before mentioned aspects, feel free to apply here in this thread.
-
I applied for the team some time ago before I could actually do anything...
But now I can do this for certain! I officially volunteer.
I beat WiH on Hard, so I can play with some degree of skill; maybe not on all difficulties, but some. Call QD for insane mode?
And I table some, and know my way around them. Also, I write, and can analyze stuff when I focus.
-
I'd like to apply too! I beat WiH on insane (haha, not to one up you Scourge  ) so the difficulty isn't much of an issue for me either. I'm quite interested in helping do some testing. Found this via a search for tester opportunities here as a matter of fact.

i'll be contacting you, but to tell you the truth, neither of you look particularly... experienced. Its one thing to boast about something, and its a completely another to be able to do it repeatedly.
neways, drop by the TAP irc channel sometime and we'll work something out.
-
I've worked quality assurance before for a VG company based in the hometown. Long hours but good times

Oh, so now you want experience tooooo? :p

Do you accept people who don't know anything about HW?
-
if a lack of HW knowledgeable people is as big as i fear it is... most likely, yes.
-
I would be willing to provide any technical feedback required. Also mission feedback, but that is not really my area of expertise.

Then feel free to count me in. I am primarily a FREDder, but the odds forced me to learn tabling and other things some 4 years ago. When I test my own missions and play old campaigns for the FSCRP I always find out what kind of problems are there and how to solve them in FRED (so I can report mission bugs and tell exactly what they're about).
-
I know how to do playtesting and tabling, I'm ussualy playing on Insane (and tested WiH on it) unless it breaks something in the campaign.
I'm also a HW fan, played HW, Cataclysm and HW2.
The only problem is my recent lack of free time, but if TAP has no campaign (just the test missions), it may not be that much of a problem.
-
Sure, count me in. I've played a good number of campaigns and I know how to navigate a table file. I've also played HW enough to know that a bomber shouldn't be able to out manoeuvre an interceptor. :)
-
Heh. I'll get back to you once i sort out all my hardware problems (monitor died and i'm more or less incapable of working on a CRT nowadays) and a intersting job i got recently (setting up a PBX for local company...)
Anyhow, i'll keep you on my mind :)
-
whoops, didn't realize i'd just posted in an 2 month old thread...
but thanks. :)
-
Just to notify, I'm still interested.
I'm no longer playing on Insane, because I'm getting used to my new HOTAS set, but I'll eventually get back to that level.
-
Would be cool to test this too, even though after like 10 years of playing this game I have never gone above medium difficulty lol.
Mainly because I would like to see it feel like hw2 as much as possible, mostly having to do with weapons sound/fire rate/damage/effects, and maybe speed values that feel similar, but aren't the same as 325 m/s is a little fast for fighters in FS.
Otherwise yes I am an uber HW fan and know how table files work (if that is what you mean by knowing my way around tables?).
-
Has the testing phase started? If so, who's involved?
-
no offense, but why would you even care about this? its up to me and the team to determine that and its only of interest to those involved currently... so please, do kindly stop.
-
It was just pure curiosity. :)
