On that quote, yep, it's Axem.

As soon as his signature Alpha 1 motif kicked in, I knew for a fact it was his doing.

It's not meeee... Seriously! Tell them Lord Ultra Death!

I think it's wonderfully appropriate that the highlight text for this release misspells Bosch's name. :D

The real name of the person who wrote this campaign is actually available in the download, I can't find any other references to that name on here though.

Having played the campaign, I must say it's probably the worst piece of crap that I've ever seen in my entire life.

For that, thanks!

Not much fun about these missions to be honest. Then again, I wouldn't know because I just ignore them... so who am I to judge?

You can check it from the properties of the readme. I think it was Gabriel Johnson or something like that (gotta check when I get home).

Re: RELEASE: Freespace 3 the search For bosch
I finally got around to playing through this today, and ....where the hell do I begin?

I feel on the receiving end of some sort of mind-assault; with the exception of the final mission, everything is so ridiculously, stupidly over-the-top, it hurts. The mission design seems awful, but that looks like the joke- many of the mistakes seem like unbelievable novice gaffes, yet they look too clever to truly be the work of a noob. Examples:
Spoiler:

Mission 1, where the Cleopatra plows right up the arsehole of you and all your wingmen after jumping in. That HAD to be deliberate.

Mission 2, where extremely annoying and unending waves of Lokis and such jump in a mere stone's throw from the player and continuously blast you with EMP. That was a stroke of sadistic brilliance; the player is invincible, so the attacks do no damage, but the wing arrivals are calibrated such that, even with cheats, it's almost impossible to be rid of the nuisance. Indeed, EMP is probably the only way to really prevent a player from affecting a mission via cheats, since he can't target anything!

Mission 3... Good God. I actually stuck around and destroyed everything. I went straight to Commander rank and got the Double Ace with a brand-new pilot. Just... just. Wow.

Mission 4- The references to forum shenanigans really tipped me off that there was something else going on. What thread were they referencing again? I know it's a classic where somebody's flying off the handle about being treated like a 12-year-old. I've seen it, but can't recall the parties involved. Also, major lulz at Pirate King Aken Bosch.

Also,
Spoiler:
Is it possible to actually win? I've tried three possible actions for the last mission: I jump out at the end and fly into a star; I try to shoot Ultra Death's flagship to death with bombs, and get HyperTreb-ganked; I try ~+K and get nuked by an Uber-Supernova. The readme credits make mention of "Like a Boss" being used (it's gotta be for victory conditions), but I'm clueless as to any means to actually win!

One last thing. I feel obliged, essentially, to make a guess at the Developer's real identity, so here goes. My first guess would have been the Battman, but hasn't it been categorically stated that he's not responsible?

That said, my guess (which I am not at all confident on) targets... Darius!
Mostly because nobody's mentioned him yet.

You can actually win that mission with 0 kills, without cheating. Just jump out. There are no victory conditions.
People are stupid, therefore anything popular is at best suspicious.

Re: RELEASE: Freespace 3 the search For bosch
Still, Mission 3 was amusing enough to make me want to play it again sometime.
Spoiler:
Blowing up mass quantities of capital ships/trying to set up chain-detonations, with ultra-long range, multi-kilometer blast radius Helios-Tornados, all set to the 1812 Overture. :D At first, I actually tried dogfighting the Maras legitimately, but after getting bounced around/back by the sheer volume of fire for a while, I locked onto a Mara with the Helios(not yet knowing what had been done with them), and said, "Ah, why not?"
EDIT: Although, I was using the 'lite' version...

For the last mission,
Spoiler:
I tried the two obvious(take out LUD) options, then thought of and tried the old trick from DEM1(start to jump out, cancel, then actually jump out), but couldn't interrupt the jump(as it must have been an in-mission subspace jump event).

The only other thought I have is possibly jumping out before Command 'locks out' your Nav computer(before the Jump Out directive actually appears.)

I find it highly amusing that this troll thread has more replies than most of the actual release threads.

Re: RELEASE: Freespace 3 the search For bosch
I assume I triggered one of the many ways to screw the last mission up,
Spoiler:
Having your engines disabled (Which I got through a shockwave killing all of my subsystems) leads to a gaggle**** of Trebuchets being shoved into every port and intake the Mara has all at once. Except what happened was my ship flew into the Auriga Clone at 1,000+ m/s when the missiles hit, exploding on its hull...****ing hell was I lolling hard.

On mine, it tells me to
Spoiler:
hold ` + shift + alt + k which obviously damages yourself. So I wonder if that would lead to another potential ending?
