HMD support existed in the past?
Hi, long time random player of FS here~
I just snagged a old forcefeedback2 stick, and reinstalled freespace and had fun again~

But, upon randomly searching through the sea of the internet in a sort of archeology hunt, I came across something odd.

the vfx3d hmd. It had aparently quite bad resolution, and it wouldn't surprise if the head tracking was utterly dreadful.  But. Did the launcher it came with do all the heavy lifting for it, or was there some other support for it included in freespace to begin with?

It's tempting to consider using this FF2 to try to make a direct drive 3phase brushless motor powered force feedback stick, but I think I'll wait to find a more suitable donor stick. ^_^

There was never any code support for it. Its description sounds like they made it work through a few Direct3D hacks.
