Bug with Nial beams
I just play through the Minbari War Demo with the 3.4 final, and I am repeatedly destroyed by Nials ..... while being behind them.
It happens in mission two (the one where you have to escort the evacuation convoy from the station).

Not only am I hit even though I am behind the Nials, it also takes only two hits for me to die (after the fist I'm down to 18%).

I've not seen this bug and I've played a lot. It must be rare. If it irritates you feel free to MANTIS it.

Well... I'd say being blown up 11 times in a row in a mission you already beat many month ago on first try (and 3 or 4 more times since) does qualify as "irritating" I guess  :p

I'll put it there as soon as I get the confirmation e-mail for my mantis registration.

Re: Bug with Nial beams
From the 3.4 beta onwards the game became much faster and more ferocious. I took the gloves off the AI with some table changes. It makes TBP a lot less pedestrian... and a little harder. That said I have beaten raider wars with the new settings many times. I hate to suggest this... but maybe you just suck as a pilot :P ?

Re: Bug with Nial beams
I would agree with you if I died, being in front of the Nial.
But I don't really think you made the enginge exhausts of the Nial stronger than their beam weapons for balance reasons, right?

But come to think of it, it didn't happen in the first mission, but I'm pretty sure I must have been behind a firing Nial there too at some time or the other.

Anyways, is it usual that the confirmation email of Mantis takes more than 24 hours to arrive, since I still havn't gotten it?

Re: Bug with Nial beams
You might want to try and lower the difficulty setting,  Blowing up quickly happens with nials

I played it on lowest difficlut.
And I am absolutely sure, beyond any doubt, that in at least 7 of those death there was no other Nial behind me.

And the kill message also said it was the one I targeted. And those always flew in front of me, while firing on the transports.

And even if there where any Nials behind me, it would still be a bug, since they destroyed me in less than 2 seconds.
Even if a starfury isn't moving, a Nial can't really be able to blow it away in 2 seconds, right?

Edit:
If you don't beliefe me, I just recorded the bug with fraps. But since it's 30MB rar-ed and I don't have that much webspace available, it could be a problem to send it.
And for some reason I never get a confimation email from Mantis, so I can't put the bug there.

heck, just upload it to rapidshare or something like that, even filefront would be OK

I did finally beat the mission but I had to use deflection shooting to get kills without getting killed.

I think it may be limited to mission 2, I haven't had the issue elsewhere yet but I haven't progressed much further either (got to playing MW4: Mercs *again* but I'm on the final mission for that so I probably start up TBP again).
