Hi, I've got the following question.
I installed the Omnitech Version 559. After that I installed the Carver V Campaign (unmodded). My Issue now: When my Pilots are promoted after the campaign missions, i do not get a skill window, it just continues to the next Pilot. And it also happens with following promotions, a dozen missions later.  I also tried it with previous Omnitech Versions, same issue, and I did not find a related topic on this forum. I saw people get the skill window on youtube playthroughs, so what am I missing? Any Ideas?

MCO 559 doesn't have selectable skills like previous versions. Instead Pilots get better with the Mechs and Weapons you place them in. If you look on the pilot select screen you will see lines for Mech Type(Light, Medium, Heavy, Assault) and weapon type (Energy, Ballistic, Missile). The same rules also apply to in-mission Scanner/Radar usage and Jump-Jet capability.

If you continuously send the same pilot out in a Light Mech with good Scanners and fully loaded Lasers.. that pilot gets better in that scout role. It actually makes "training your team" something you can control and improve in. Its better than the old system of skills (this person has never used a ER PPC - now they are a headshot killer with them)...

I think Magic has it coded so that a total number of points across all skill types determines overall pilot rank. In this setup a Jack of all trades will be classed just the same as a specialist (if the point totals equal), which makes pilot selection fairer and easier. You can train a scout to always take on your mission in that Raven and have a jack of all waiting on the scavenger plane ready for whatever mech you drop him into.
