Oh ****, I totally forgot about doing Alpha 2's voice. Sorry.

Also, I thought it was Mandala Prime, not Manadala Prime.

Oh, and ****ing kickass rerelease. :P

Ok, eh, I see a few hitches.

During the Alexander Bell mission, pilot's messages come from Command, when none of them are dead, and the "Return to base" message that SHOULD come from the Alexander Bell comes from Command, or do they have the same actor?

[EDIT] The Nepenthe is also supposed to send a message talking about a shield around the Alexander Bell.

In the mission before that, the Casa Belt mission, the Nepenthe's "Oh no, the Trinity has arrived!" message is sent by the Trinity.

And in the Mandala Prime mission, the Mandala Prime nebulae and planet are missing.

[EDIT] All custom nebulae and backgrounds are missing.

And what the hell is that screaming the Vasudans do? Battle cries? I've never figured that out.

Top notch release though. Sounds like you kept the original voices, too. :D

Sweet. Just finished. First, the positive feedback. I'm happy to announce that 'dem table/model problems are over at least for my part. All ships were what they were supposed to be and the final mission was finally exciting.

Also, I think the voice acting has improved. Darkblade's pronunciation sounded noticeably better than for example in Phantoms and Echo Gate. And it seemed like Ransom really gave his soul to the lines he did in the last mission. Seriously, he sounded very convincing.

Then, again with the graphical issues. As I stated, all the ships were displayed correctly but wasn't there supposed to be a Mandala Prime in the last mission? After seeing those screens I was looking forward to gazing at it but it didn't show up. Actually, I couldn't even find any reference to planets in the vps. If you could fix it, I'd be happy indeed.

Still, quality stuff. Keep up the good work.

Yeah the texture for Mandala Prime isn't include in the vp.
I suppose you just forgot it. Could you add the missing files and reupload the vp?

I can't even count how many times I replayed this campaign from among the Silent Threat bonus missions; I thought (and think) that it was much more enjoyable than the actual ST campaign.  It'll be great to give it another run-through with this release. :)

Here's Mandala Prime:

Download (http://files.filefront.com//;7773800;;/)

It was left out of the vp file.  I'll have a look at the other feedback and any more and later upload a final version.

Excellent.  I finished this last night.  This was always one of my favorite FS campaigns, and I really missed the voiceacting.  The only thing I didn't like about it was the Nepenthe mission briefings and debriefings; the voiceover seemed to be forcing it a little too hard.  I don't remember if that was the original voiceacting or if it was some new stuff, but that's the only part I didn't like about the whole campaign.  Great work on the porting! :D

Aww I'm hurt now, though I have to admit I was a bit too serious when I did those lines.

Nah, don't be, bud.  Your usual voice would have been just perfect for the role, IMHO.  It seems to work for a squadron leader pretty well. :)

Didn't freespacegundam do a role in Cardinal Spear as well? Because he sounds a lot like Lieutenant Samsa. :D

Yes I did.  I didn't realize I sounded like Samsa all that much though  :)

Dude, you'd be a ****ing soundalike in my opinion. ;)

Now that you mentioned it, I liked your acting too, gundam. You are really made to be a squadron leader, dude. If I hadn't known better, I would have surely mistaken you for the original lieutenant Samsa voice actor.

As a side note, this campaign can accidentally have rather interesting dialogue. For example:

PVD Phoenix: "<Unable to translate>"
Alpha 3: "Roger that, sir"

Glad to know that there is something where I have improved.

Of course, if anyone has anything to comment on my performance, be free to do so. I'm always looking more ways to improve myself in terms of voice acting.

Darkblade as himself, that actually made me chuckle. :)

Here's a table file (with the Mandala Prime planet effect) that adds the Mandala Prime planet to the game, or whatever.

It's in a VP, so be sure to take out the table file that you already have in the tables folder.

Is it possible to complete this campaign on Insane? I remeber finishing it previously on Hard but that wasn't so hard (except for the the last mission). Now I am trying Insane  but got stuck in the third mission (capture the cruiser Timberland). You have to destroy the cruiser's escort but it's just too many of those Valkyries. 3 vs 6 -- and they overwhelm me and my wingmen no matter how hard I try or what tactics I choose (though there isn't much room for some cunning tactics here). That's strange, the entire GTA can't sent a few more fighters and some mercenaries have a numerical superiority.

Sorry, I don't have the answer to your question. Someone will though.

However, you really need to stop necroing old threads. This thread is more than 3 YEARS old!

At least in this case the post was relevant to the thread. And I don't see why posting in a campaign release thread is so bad. Should releases just be left to die in loneliness?

I suppose not? However, this is like the 3rd or 4th thread I've seen him necro from years past...

Campaign release threads are considered one of the few exceptions to the rule.  But in general, yes, he shouldn't go around necro'ing threads.

Well, never mind. I had to lower the difficulty to Hard. On Hard you can dogfight those Valkyries with one hand.

I guess this is just one of those missions which weren't playtested on higher difficulty levels. The Awakenings campaign has the very same problem but it isn't playable even on Hard -- you have to dogfight swarms of enemy craft and get no less than 20 kills per mission without any tactical advantage which is impossible on Insane and more than very hard on Hard.

Cardinal Spear, on the other hand, is well more balanced to play on various difficulty levels than Destiny of Peace or Awakenings. It is also hard on Insane (ans sometimes very hard) but you can always see how to improve your performance and what tactics would be better in particular situations, making it challenging but also enjoyable to play on the highest difficulty level.

Actually, I didn't know about this campaign until I saw this thread just now. VAd too... I look forward to playing it.

Sorry for the double post, but I played this campaign and it's pretty good. I'm still curious how I could not have heard about it before.

I took the liberty of completing the modpack for 3.6.12 compatibility. I played through the entire campaign with a recent build. This update includes a working mod.ini as well as a logo.

Full download here: http://www.mediafire.com/?zh2pcm03b8l2at1

You must have the latest version of fsport as well as fsport_mediavps 3.6.12 to play.

The campaign is well done with plot twists and turns as well as decently freded missions. You can tell the developers made an effort to come up with something volition might release. It was good fun to play.

Just one thing:
Spoiler:
When the Destiny destroys the second vasudan destroyer in the last mission, it quickly jumps and plows through all the debris losing around 40% of it's health. Had to play the mission twice and it did it both times lol.

Because i am stumbled about this campaign during the FSPort Single Player missions, i am remembering this seperated voice acted release back then.
Actually i wonder, if there is a complete version of this campaign available somewhere? All links in this thread that are working does only have a version of the campaign without Mandala Prime in the last mission. And that is the only version i have myself.

I had the same problem (missing Mandala Prime) a long time ago.  Admiral Nelson sent me that^ file and it fixed things.  Could you put that in your DOP folder and see if it works?
