3.8.0 not detecting joystick
Hi there!

I have recently downloaded FS Open version 3.8.0. It looks lovely, but I cannot play it as my joystick (Thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS) is not recognised by it. It works fine with 3.7.2 and 3.7.4. I notice that in both 3.7.2 and 3.7.4 the joystick drop down menu detects 'Microsoft PC-joystick driver'. 3.8.0 does not. It only shows 'V Joy Virtual Joystick' (from when I installed joystick curves I assume.) Clicking detect does not help. I have tried using the joystick with joystick curves running and without it, but it makes no difference.  :banghead: Any suggestions?

NB apologies for posting this twice, I'm a forum noob. I accidentally posted this earlier in 'getting started'.

Re: 3.0.8 not detecting joystick
Have you installed wxLauncher 0.12.0-rc.2?

Re: 3.8.0 not detecting joystick
Yep, that worked great, thank you  :)

I have encountered another problem however which has started affecting 3.4.7 and 3.8.0. Freespace 2 no longer recognises the buttons on my mouse, or the buttons on the joystick - so I can't shoot. The buttons on the throttle  part of the HOTAS work ok however.

It used to work fine. It started happening after I re-ran the open installer recently. I tried running it again so see if that would fix it but no joy???

Anyone have any ideas???

Is the throttle a separate device?

Nope, all one unit. Thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS X. Any ideas?

I got the same unit, and I can use and bind all buttons. Can you verify that all the buttons on your stick actually work?

Re: 3.8.0 not detecting joystick
Yep they all work. They all work on FS Port titles, AS1, Inferno, Vassago's Dirge and other mods. But not FS2 it's self. Even though it used to work fine.

Re: 3.8.0 not detecting joystick
If it works fine with other mods/campaigns selected with the same executable, that probably means you need to redefine your joystick binds for the FS2 campaign.
