did you try posting it on reddit (i was meaning to bring this up in the let's talk thread, but while reddit can potentially get your thing a lot of attention it has the single dumbest self-promotion rule ever written so you need to use an account with an established history of ****posting to submit stuff)

It is, but you should stop posting your nice looking screenshots as .gif though! You had a few other screenshots I was considering using but the gif format really degrades the quality... :(
I dont really have a reddit account with massive amounts of karma I could use for 'self'-promoting purposes.

I was actually wondering why these screens are a bit different from the actual in-game view... So, anyway, I know it isn't the place to ask, but: what's the best way to upload them then? .tga? :rolleyes:
I am going to retake some (if not all) of them someday with some newest PBR buids (mostly the warp effect) and it would be VERY useful to know how to squeeze the best quality out of them.

I usually upload in JPEG format, it seems to work well.

I tried to register to upvote earlier and Imgur chocked on my registration. I'll give it another try until I succeed though.
EDIT : Yep, keep getting this error "{"data":{"error":"Imgur is temporarily over capacity. Please try again later."},"success":false,"status":500}"
I guess FS2 is just too awesome.

Upvoted. But it's imgur. If it doesn't have memes, cats, or tits, it's not going to get noticed enough to get to most viral (what, 300 upvotes?), which is where people might actually see it. r/gaming is definitely a good option as well.
Quick, everyone make 40 imgur accounts. Or add cats and tits to FSO.

I keep meaning to post it to /r/gaming but I'd like a few other subreddits to post it to and I need a good, snappy choice of title, and right now I can't think of either.

Not dead yet, the best space shooter ever is even better with modern engine features and upgraded assets.
Miss the glory days of PC flight sims? Freespace 2 might be 18 years old but thanks to fans it's still shining brightly.
Modders are awesome, Freespace 2 offers stunning visuals and a very diverse set of campaigns to choose from thanks to hard work from fans. Hard to believe it's 18 years old.
There, a few cheesy titles appropriate for r/gaming. Feel free to mix and match or add your own cheesy one-liners to make them even better.
As for other subreddits you can try r/spacesimgames, r/pcmasterrace and r/GameMods.

I like the way you're thinking. No true PC lover could resist the urge of rubbing this nugget into the dirty faces of the console peasants. Here's a 1999 release, and it's looking better than most 2010+ releases.

I posted it to /r/pcmasterrace (https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/5wzm0t/miss_the_glory_days_of_pc_space_sims_freespace_2/) where it got decent visibility. Posting it to /r/freespace seemed totally pointless because it has no subscribers.

You post it to /r/freespace. Then, you x-post it to /r/pcmasterrace, so that those who like it will subscribe (that's how I end up subscribing to new subreddits 90% of the time).
