T-VWP will end up like Duke Nukem Forever.  Never finished.

[21:51] <@Droid803> as this rich psychic girl will now be tsundere for a loli.
[21:51] <@Droid803> OH WELLL.

See what you're missing in #WoD and #Fsquest?

[07:57:32] <Caiaphas> inspired by HerraTohtori i built a supermaneuverable plane in ksp
[07:57:43] <Caiaphas> i just killed my pilots with a high-g maneuver
[07:58:19] <Caiaphas> apparently people can't take 20 gees for 5 continuous seconds
[08:00:11] <Caiaphas> the plane however performed admirably, and only crashed because it no longer had any guidance systems

Chapter 1 is pretty much done.

Seriously, how do you think that helps? In any way?

Well TVWP's got a demo out so that's already lightyears ahead of duke nukem forever.

The original plan was to release something like seven chapters, but that assumed that once we had the initial mod pack finished we could do one every six months.  Obviously that's not realistic.

Chapter 1 *is* nearly finished, but some of the missions are in rough form and we need to balance or finalize them.

:bump:

Considering what happened to UW, I have three questions for you.

Q: Will TVWP keep following Eishtmo's timeline?

Q: What kind of changes should we expect?

Q: Are you going to create a ModDB profile?

1) TVWP's story will not change at all from the previous plan, even if it uses any new ideas for the retconned UWar. TVWP is set several years after and so there is a lot of time for the situation to stabilise after the end of the Unification War.

2) Nothing incredible. TVWP wont change much from the original plans and U-War's changes (if any) will only be with depth of the story and ships for each faction.

3) We will consider it, especially as they do seem to be popular. It will take time to come to our decision however as there is a lot to go through.

Q: How (and when) you decided to turn U-War into an independent mod?

Q: FREDding-wise, what are we going to see in TVWP? Are you planning to use advanced stuff?

Q: Are there any new ship designs we'll get to see in the near future? If so, is it possible to know more about them?

Q: What's your approach on more or less evident inconsistencies? For instance, where's Talania?

Q: Speaking of armaments, do you a) know what the Vasudans will use (at least in the early stages of the war) and b) plan to use better blob turrets, unlike those seen in FS1?

Q: How (and when) you decided to turn U-War into an independent mod?

Internally, very recently, because after discussing it it was decided it was too crappy and would drag down the rest of TVWP.

Yes, and I'll leave the latter to the real team.

Eishtmo has answers to everything.

Armament tweaks are, I believe, planned.

Q: What is the next release going to be about?

Q: Are you going to use the fiction viewer, maybe to show what went wrong during the Conversation?

Q: How (and when) you decided to turn U-War into an independent mod?
Battuta summed it up best. The U-War is A) a very old campaign and B) has so much potential that it deserves some sprucing, but we felt it wrong to work on U-War under the flag of TVWP, which is meant to be about the T-V war. Thus U-War is sort of on the backburner for the moment while we work on T-V chapters.

Q: FREDding-wise, what are we going to see in TVWP? Are you planning to use advanced stuff?
We're not quite sure as of yet. I and the group AFAIK want to focus more on traditional FS-style action gameplay than on advanced scripted events, though we'll certainly make use of features that aid in presenting that action (such as the Ballistic ammo and ship handling effects seen in U-War).

Quote
Q: Are there any new ship designs we'll get to see in the near future? If so, is it possible to know more about them?
We're still sort of deciding on our final ship list, but when its done expect some info blurbs to be released. :)

Quote
Q: What's your approach on more or less evident inconsistencies? For instance, where's Talania?
Our story so far has aimed to adhere to FS1 canon (hence the Beta Aquilae node mentioned in the released U-War). However, in the case of Talania the decision so far has been on actually having it as a system. What happenes to it will be discovered in the storyline. ;7

The Vasudan fleet is still in early stages of development, so we're not quite sure yet. You'll have to watch this space.

Q: What is the next release going to be about?
The T-V war . Nah just kidding, we're thinking of making our next release set much further into the war as opposed to keeping chronological, so people can actually play the conflict the TVWP was actually meant to present :).

Q: Are you going to use the fiction viewer, maybe to show what went wrong during the Conversation?
An interesting idea. It shall be considered. :)[/quote]

Note that all answers are based on current feelings/decisions and may change in future.

Q: Who's part of the team now and who does what?

Q: Are you planning to create a minicampaign where the player is a Vasudan?

Q: Are you going to create cutscenes (both FRED-made and actual cutscenes)?

Q: Are we going to see a TVWP starmap showing all systems, including Talania?

Q: Can we expect more characters? If so, what'll be their role in the campaign?

Q: Will you include a single missions pack?

Q: (Odd question.) Are you guys motivated? What have you learned from past experience?

Mobius, because of the theme hasn't been replaced, it's a pain in the ASS to read your questions.

Q: What's your approach on more or less evident inconsistencies? For instance, where's Talania?

I have an answer for Talania, but I think I'll hold on to it for the moment.  Other inconsistencies will be resolved as they come up, but there are only a handful that really impact the story.

Quote
Q: Are you planning to create a minicampaign where the player is a Vasudan?

My plan is TWO campaigns where you play Vasudans.  And yes, you will fly an Anubis.  You will also learn to fear them.

Quote
Q: Are we going to see a TVWP starmap showing all systems, including Talania?

Again, I'm holding my Talania stuff for the moment, but there is no need for a separate map at this time

Quote
Q: Can we expect more characters? If so, what'll be their role in the campaign?

There are characters, but they probably won't be more any more impactful than the current batch of FS characters.

Quote
Q: Will you include a single missions pack?

Maybe.

Quote
Q: Do you have an estimate on the number of missions we'll get to play in the next (first?) TVWP release?

About a dozen for the first one.  It'll vary depending on the time period the campaign covers.

Quote
Q: There will be any atmospheric missions?

Maybe, haven't got that far yet.

Quote
Q: Are you going to use the fiction viewer, maybe to show what went wrong during the Conversation?

While I can't say how it will be presented, I can say this:  Is WHAT went wrong as important as WHY it went wrong?
Warpstorm  Bringing Disorder to Chaos, And Eventually We'll Get It Right.

---------

I know there is a method, but all I see is madness.

Explain this. In terms of storytelling, what does it mean? How are you going to describe the Conversation?
