Weird. I would have expected poser. I guess I got a lot of points from knowing sci-fi writers names, but I usually don't remember much from their books. Two other things that affected the result were me being a Physicist and a research scientist by the trade, and me having a side role in a fan-movie/parody/crossover. And I never watched Battle Star Galactica to begin with!

Where were the questions that took account 12 years of breakdance and 8 years of kung-fu?!

I admit I did a Trivial Pursuit showdown with someone who thought they were unbeatable at Star Wars Trivial Pursuit.

...and won. But I have a good memory. A lot of the stuff on there seemed incredibly trivial if you have any ability to remember stuff. Like the "five author names" questions. That's not hard. I probably picked up enough just in a trip to Barnes and Noble.

See, the problem with that assertion is that 40k has vast non-geek appeal, like, y'know, chainsaw swords.

I think you have the situation reversed.  Having chainsaw swords doesn't make it a non-geek appeal, it makes non-geeks more into geeks for liking them.

I thought chainsaw swords were cool in a geeky sort of way since they're completely implausible weapons.  Especially eviscerators, which are two-handed chainsaw greatswords capable of shredding through tank armor, with some of its biggest fans being fanatical, zealous nuns who fearlessly charge into battle waving those two-handed chainsaw greatswords around while half-naked as a form of penance for their sins.

Can you believe Warhammer 40k only had a few short entries for each of those categories?  Someone at Games Workshop needs to get working on that.

I know 40k players, and I've been into Games Workshop, it's probably one of the most expensive hobbies I've seen large numbers of 10-16 year olds have.

Yeah, and being so expensive which is why I don't play the tabletop game.  I just read the novels and play lots of Dawn of War.
