Hi there, long time lurker and hello from the modding community over at Fractal Softworks! I saw the other "asset gift" thread, and thought to myself why not? Anyhow, I know you've already got a composer or two, but wanted to donate a track or three from one of my mods after all of the Blue Planet enjoyment I've had. You're under no pressure to use these, but have my permission to redistribute them (or the other stuff on my Soundcloud) for Blue Planet Freespace mods in general if people decide they like them- the only stipulation is I appear in the credits/acknowledgements if these get used (and you don't derive commercial profit from them).

ambient/title track
https://soundcloud.com/kazi11/nebula

some highly aggressive taiko abuse
https://soundcloud.com/kazi11/steel-rain

another ambient track (you may want to use the remastered copy from my mod download at http://fractalsoftworks.com/forum/index.php?topic=7372.0 instead of the soundcloud one... it's in mayorate/sounds/ilk/music/)
https://soundcloud.com/kazi11/the-expanse

Anyhow, thanks for all of the fabulous campaigns over the years... and am always looking forwards to a few more  ;)

Welcome to HLP kazi !

First off, thank you for posting.

Your music is amazing, to say the least. I find it very good for space setting game/mod.

Could you clarify please if is this content for use solely on BluePlanet, or can be used in other works/mods of Freespace 2?

Regardless of your reply, thank you for your contribution/donation!

Eh, why not?  :) Edited OP to reflect this.

I'd love to hear this music and anything else similar to it you make in the next WiH. Have you intentionally not made The Expanse downloadable?

(Ye gods meant to post to this!)

Huge thanks for this donation Kazi; it's hard to get good music for mods, and these are superb ('Steel Rain' especially). Am fan of electronic music to boot so will definitely keep an eye on your work from here on.

May I ask if you have any particular central/preferred site or contact address/method? Will be sure to include it in credits if I use your music.
Also goes by 'Murasaki-Tatsu' outside of Hard-Light

Haha I was wondering why Steel Rain sounded so familiar when I listened to it earlier, then I booted up StarSector.

Mayorate is a good mod and you do good work.

This game's beta came out a few days ago...but when I got to it's main menu section, I heard this music track. I honestly could imagination this being part of War in Heaven.

Well, music from the Stand Alone Complex show has already been used, which could very well be why that seems to fit.

 Guess I'm going to play BP again to find out

Edit:

Thought I would give a bit more few out here. All of these are copyrighted, but if they were able to get one song pass by 'fair use' these can be edited to do just that also.

https://youtu.be/YKxX8qAF5hk?t=5m59s <---ID4 just as the battle for Area 51 happens could be cut up and change of pitch just to make things 'safe'.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLAQlgXPYHI <----ID:R 1st trailer just has that Freespace intro feel. Thought this can go somewhere for Steel coming over Earth in full force and all hell breaks loose.

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL17E1346C462B5C28 <---Einhander from PS1 ost. To be honest Thermosphere really fits in with Blue Planet (I've tried jamming to this in combat)
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLCC8893DEBF3FFF09 <----Einhander v2 PS1 ost. Different mix. Thermosphere and Assult remix I lean towards Blue Planet combat.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7MExM4H_ts&index=16&list=PLD84730806D9EC621 <----Panzer Dragoon II Zwei - 16 Episode 6 (Conclusion) if you can find a very lossless sound file of this. I'm just throwing this at this post. There is another one more instrumental/epic than synth/drums https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5SqjHm5PINA here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnhN2vSc_Po good fast beat with that 'Blue Planet' vibe I guess (the idea of tribal drums with some oriental like percussion, at times).

And I will just voice this out, being brand new when I post this: No Man's Sky for ambiance.

:D Been a while. I have been listening to much NewRetroWave on Youtube and had many vibes of FreeSpace 2 era music with the synth music, but not that Blue Planet vibe. I do remember some 'clam' music or even introspect during some dialog between characters in game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWuVg-Z7v4w thought this would be something to work with. The :53 marker really think it fits with Blue Planet for the dialog window before a mission briefing.
