There are more background colors available, but mixing the skybox effects with different colored gas effects can scare people into thinking they're on an acid trip so I'm going to avoid that.

I don't really care what color the nebula has, but it just shouldn't look like hyperspace. Everything else should be fine !

If someone wanted to draw up a grey or black nebula poof I'd certainly consider changing it for the mission.

I know this is an old thread but I am working on updating a couple campaigns to run under TBP on Knossos.  The Relic is one I have finished and will soon upload it to Knossos in the next release.  I am hoping I can get some of you to play test it.  I am new at editing and have no clue to FRED yet but it was a pretty easy job updating the BMP filenames.
