Every time something in my house dies or otherwise require replacement, I curse the bastards who have resisted standardization, and the other bastards who put high-end non-standard parts into homes.

One of our bathroom fans died. Can I go to Home Depot / Lowe's / Rona / other big box store and simply buy a replacement? NOPE! Not unless I want to rip the entire unit out of the ceiling, resize the hole, and wire a new one in. No, I have to spend $125+ at a specialty parts store for a replacement unit which will plug right in. FFS.

Bought my Rogue One tickets this morning. Midnight screening, IMAX 3D.

Only downside will be dragging my wife's 11 year old brother along. He's a big SW fan, but he's also 11 at 2AM when we walk out.

That and work the next day.

Midnight releases are dumb, go to the 7 pm showing on Thursday. I'm assuming that's a thing other places than just Kansas City?

Good news for the Polish Air Force.

US officials gave us a green light to negotiate a contract for the purchase of AGM-158 JASSM missiles in the ER (Extended range) variant in addition to standard JASSM's which were ordered earlier :3
We will be the first foreign users of that ordnance (ER variant).

And that means that our F-16's will be able to punch targets from more then 900km's from their positions

. And that will be a big step forward as our current offensive arsenal (almost non existent) is in miserable condition.
