Hello Everyone,

i love to play new Campaigns and Missions. But on the "Missions and Campaigns" Thread its not easy to see whats new.
Is it possible to put the Start Date on the Overview?
And is it possible to put a sort button there too?

For Example:
Released Campaigns Thread
Started by Scotty on YYYY.MM.DD

So it would be easy to see whats new and we have a history.
Actually i often read old threads just because there is a new post.

You mean, the End Date?  Newer posts have newer End Dates.

And yes, you can sort them.  Click on the arrow next to Last Post.

No he means the start date as in the date of the first post. That way you can organise threads based on the date the thread creator posted them, allowing you to order release threads based on how new they are. Ordering posts based on when someone last posted on the thread doesn't put the threads in chronological order. 

I had a quick look in the admin panel but I can't see how to change the columns so that we can also have first post as an option.

Is the Problem to add a Column or is there no option for Start-Date?

This doesn't appear to be possible without writing an extension for the theme.  I searched online and on the simplemachines.org forum, and there were no mods for adding a "First post" column.

What we could do is make suggestions about how threads are named when they are released. The Diaspora Developer Blog is an example of this. By including the date in reverse format you can simply sort on thread name to organise the entire forum based on the dates each blog entry was posted.

While that wouldn't help with older threads (unless someone was bored and willing to change a bunch of thread names) it would mean that any future releases can be organised this way.

Actually, here's something you can do.  Go to the forum search page and click "Advanced search".  Put RELEASE in the search box, select "Search in topic subjects only" and change the search order to "Most recent topics first" (or "Oldest topics first" if you prefer).  Expand the list of boards, deselect all of them, then select only the Missions and Campaigns board.  Then click Search.  Voila: a list of release threads ordered by the date of the first post in the thread.
