Re: Database inconsistency detected
We've already been promised something big at the end of the tunnel; in fact, the previous end offering, the preview of the full campaign on the currently-defunct "You Win" board, was a consolation prize, since the real reward wasn't quite ready in time.  I'm guessing this whole time reset was intended to take us back to before that time, so that we can get the final prize when we were originally supposed to.  (Fun fact: the Vasudan word of the day archive seems to be the only item on the Holonet that wasn't pushed back.)  What I can't tell you is whether there's some sort of puzzle here that can lead us to that reward...or whether we're just supposed to sit tight and wait until that counter runs down.  Regardless, it's better late than never for you guys; at least you beat those who will be stuck outside until this whole thing (possibly) goes public at the end. :p

As for the end of Aadarsh's final message, if I had to guess, I'd say it was just random gibberish, since his signal (and maybe his life) was seemingly in the process of being forcibly cut off.  There always is a possibility that there's something hidden in there, though.

Re: Database inconsistency detected
By the way, lostllama, were you able to figure out if the Fokker Triplane post was message #1181422?

Yes it was, the address for that post is below (obviously it's not working).

Does anyone remember what Ardash's real name was? It could give us another user name for the holonet.

Ahh, okay.  I assumed the early release would have counted as the ultimate prize... and when I found out the counter was going to end on April Fools' Day, I got the impression that this post was just nothing.  (Maybe I've read that one thread in the Classics section one too many times...)  But if there's something more at the end of the tunnel, then there probably is a bit more to this.

And McMad, I don't think we ever found out Aadarsh's real name... he gave us the names Isaac Stone and Andreas Rybak, but he's someone else.
"Uh, yeah, I mean it's tough to say, woulda-coulda-shoulda, ifs and buts like candy and nuts, you know, you never know.  This, that, and the other thing.  Who knows?  You know, there are a lot of what-ifs.  You know, my whole life is a lot of what-ifs."

Re: Database inconsistency detected
We did see Aadarsh's real name in the security alert that came up when using Rybak's account, but I can't recall what it was.

Re: Database inconsistency detected
Someone had a screenshot of it in the Fokker Triplane thread.

Found it. I'm not sure how to do the accent, so I've attached it instead.

Live from #162 (yes, it's alive once in a while :P )

<FSF>   Is there a puzzle we haven't found yet?
<FSF>   Like, in the rubble Aadarsh posted?
<Goober5000>   the gibberish at the end of the message is line noise
   <FSF>   Nothing but that?
   <Goober5000>   ya
<FSF>   So, all we can do is wait?
   <Goober5000>   ya
<FSF>   Till April Fools... I keep thinking we're being fooled though :P
   <Goober5000>   no comment :p

EDIT:

Quote
<FSF>   Does Aadarsh's name mean something? Or is it just a name?
   <Goober5000>   it's just a name
<Goober5000>   he had an Indian handle, so I thought I'd pick a name that wasn't Indian
<Goober5000>   and also you don't usually hear of Portuguese astronauts

EDIT2:

Quote
<Goober5000>   well, actually, I did pick Estevao for a reason
   <FSF>   Oh?
   <Goober5000>   ya
   <FSF>   Which reason?
<Goober5000>   well, if you want a puzzle, there it is :p
   <FSF>   x_x
<FSF>   Can we have something to start off with?
   <FSF>   Please?
<Goober5000>   no, you need to keep yourselves busy until the counter reaches 0

Re: Database inconsistency detected
Estevão Figueira (I just post this here for copy and paste purposes)

Well, Figueira is portugese, alright. THere is a province in portugal with that name (Figuera da Foz), and there is also a Santiago Figueira named computer scientist, although I do believe that is just a coincidence.

Santo Estêvão is more intresting. Really more intresting. It is the spanish/portugese name for Saint Stephen. SInce it is a religious thing, something tells me we should look there.

It reminds me of Speaker for the Dead and all that. I think that was Estavao Ribeira though.
