Though it might look pretty and be fun, it might not be a true simulation like you guys intend to do.

So keep it up

Heh, looks nice!

It's kinda like the BtRL project, there's also a BSG Mod going on for X3, and the two groups get along pretty well

I'll be we get along ok too if we ever get along in any way at all.  We should have a friendly competition.

Well freespace 2 and battlefield are 2 completely differant games, so i don't think competition will be a really big problem.

Heh, I think it's more a question of just comparing models etc, some friendly cometition, but nothing really serious, and general encouragement. Oddly enough, simply having someone from an entirely seperate group say 'Hey! That's a damn impressive Model!' can do wonders for injecting life into ongoing work

Hey, they're 'cheating' with some (great) bump-mapping in that render!

Bump mapping isn't cheating, if the engine supports it...

Ingame Trailer in Youtube

Looks completely awesome as far as I can tell, but obviously you can't really see how the gameplay will feel from that clip... Nevertheless worth keeping an eye on, so thanks for the heads-up.

Well sure, that's why I single-quoted 'cheating' and added the wink.

So, yeah... er... eh... when will FSO support bump-mapping?  Big grin
(rhetorical question this time)
SWC's B-Wing mesh still looks more detailed IMO.

The mod does look great in the video though... adding in SW is enough to make me want to get back into FPS Multiplayer games (old CounterStrike BETA vet).

the orange red circles are B-wing canon, though i think they might be smaller on the genuine article.

Anyway looks like Battlefront...  without all the painful shortcomings of Battlefront.  The hoth sequnce alone makes Battlefront II look like crap, course the whole space part of that game was half assed anyway.

Hey, did you notice in the demo that it sounded like the FirstStrike guys are using the actual licensed music?
See if they get in trouble, and if not... you get the rest.

Why does everyone always want to play the BoE mission?

I know it looks spectacular, but people never seem to click onto the fact that, unless you are playing one of Rogue Squadron (I think they did the Reactor Run), it would simply turn into a slog-fest of target, shoot, target....
