The only place so far I've found "Kopachris" unavailable was Twitter.  I guess I'm the only Chris who was a fan of Kopaka when he first formed his online identity twelve years ago and couldn't think of a name.

the problem for me was the dough on the outside was just about burned and the bacon was essentially raw.  i don't think i'm gonna try that again.  i KNOW i can pull off bacon tacos, and they are delicious.

Bacon isn't much of a source for food-borne pathogens due to the smoking and salting processes it undergoes.  Cook it longer, at a lower heat.  Problem solved.

Alternatively, cook/bake the bacon some prior to wrapping it. Only so much that it's more edible, but still flimsy enough

i find that if you try to cook bacon any other way than frying it, you wasted your bacon. im sure there are other ways, but i never experiment as far as bacon is concerned. i find it somewhere between stupid and outright blasphemy against the pork gods.

on another subject i finally decided to test those spi nordic rf transceiver modules i bought months ago. to my surprise they work with virtually no effort what so ever. the old ask modules i was using max out at about 4800 bits/sec (in practice its like a third of that because of the need for manchester encoding, error checking, and other overhead). these Nrf24L01+ modules on the other hand give me 250 kbit/sec minimum (also support 1 megabit a sec if i ever need to transmit video), not to mention they have automatic error checking and correction build in. range is also about the same, but there are amplified modules that are a little more expensive that can do 1000 meters, perfect for quadcopter use. im gonna throw away those damn ask modules.

Minor update on the quest for Character/Physics Happy Fun Time™! which I deem insignificant enough to warrant a triple-post / threadbump in the thread in the Programming board

Had an idea where instead of telling every joint in the whole Dood what orientation I want it in, I just tell specific bones what position/orientation I want them in, then go back and undo any changes that produces in the net linear/angular velocity of the Dood.

Preliminary testing where just the pelvis bone wants to orient itself to face the "heading" vector looks good... maybe. The Dood is limp like a ragdoll, but when I use the jetpack he sort of manages to orient himself in the right direction.

I'm now looking for a place to live in the Bay Area, so it's back to the craigslist housing game. Setting aside the problem that many people seem to have no idea how to write an effective housing ad so far, only one ad has had a memorable line:

Tell me why you'd be the one right person for this situation.

Found Krita, an awesome drawing program. It is sadly plagued by instability issues (on Windows anyway), but it is still a fantastic open source Corel Painter.
