Hey guys,

So I am now back for some value of "back". I've actually been lurking and on SCP internal for a couple months now. To explain:

I've decided that besides the (probably permanent) central vision loss, there's too many important things going on IRL that just aren't well served by spending time on Internet forums. As such, most HLP boards are now on my ignore list. I'll still continue my work for the SCP when I can. Programming turned out to be a good career choice -- there are even programmers who are completely blind.

In case you're wondering how I'm doing, well, as the CAH card puts it: "Exactly what you'd expect". That's all I really want to say here.

To anyone thinking of giving something resembling a motivational speech: please don't. I don't want to hear it. Nothing personal. I hope you understand.

Finally, since it's very unlikely that I'll be able to play an FSO game again, here are the campaigns I played:

gone through the house and spliced all the electrical cables that the kitten has chewed through. shes probibly gotten electrocuted enough times to get the message.

Maybe it can be an opportunity. If your employer sees you just passed a big deadline and did so while clearly sick, and turned up on time for the interview, that will show you're a good worker.

i think i compressed my spine a little skimboarding this morning. flew out the back of a wave, went several feet in the air, and landed on my back in just a foot of water or so and kindof.... folded over. the next wave jammed me into the sand pretty good.

Ooooh, you should get that checked out at once.

Back problems are serious business and the last thing you want is to be wandering around potentially making a bad situation worse. These things can really creep up on you.

Speaking as a close relative of someone with spine problems, yes. It's best to get those checked out quick. They can get worse pretty fast if ignored.

Still hope it's not the platters or head stack, it didn't make any noise when it died so really really hoping it's just the PCB...

To those who don't feel like looking it up, it's a rifle chambered for .50 BMG rounds
