Where can I get new ship models?

Hey, everyone. I got MediaVPs, and I really like it. But I heard that there are even better versions of some ships available, some even with cockpits. Where can I get these? And which ships are available?

The MediaVPs have the most up-to-date and reliable ship models. If you have normal maps enabled, you're getting the best of the best.

These models also include cockpits. You'll have to do some table editing to insert the show-cockpit flag, however. Check out the Freespace Wiki.

All you have to do to add a cockpit is edit a flag?

No all you have to do to see the cockpit for ships that already have one is add the flag.  Big difference.

Since you're not having problems with playing and/or installing FreeSpace, FreeSpace 2 or FreeSpace Open, but rather just want to do some model stuff, I'm moving this to the Modding board.

Just a question: When I add the command line flag "-normal" it says the flag isn't recognized. Will it work anyway, or does this mean I for some reason can't use normals?

Whoaaaaa now. Are you using a 3.6.9 build, or a 3.6.10 build? Get the latest 3.6.10 build from the Recent Builds forum.

Oh, that's it, I was running 3.6.10, but it was an old build. I probably changed it by accident, because I have the a recent nightly here.

Sorry for double posting, but what exactly do I need to change on the table? In which table, also? I looked around on the Wiki, and couldn't find anything. The only thing I foound was that I could edit the ships.tbl to add the $Cockpit POF file line, but this doesn't help, as I don't know what's the name of the .pof files for the cockpits.

In the ships.tbl, for the ship in question under $Flags add a  "show_model" (or show cockpit? Can't recall the exact line, I'll check)  flag among the others
