ST:R Constantly crashing?

I'm having the problem in that After a few minutes playing ST:R it crashes and tells me Freespace is no longer responding. Does anyone else have this issue? It's usually about 15mins in and it'll crash.

3.1.1 clean install, with FSPort mediavps
FS2 with mediavps

Quadcore 2 duo 2.4ghz
4gig of ram
Nvidia Geforce 8800 GT

Is this ST:R specific, or does it happen with any mod?

If you don't already have it, make sure you've got the 3.6.10 RC3: http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,63492.0.html
If you already do, or it doesn't help, run the debug version and post the FS2 logfile from \freespace2\data here plz. :)

It seems to be ST:R specific - I did just get the RC3 but I did play it once again and it seemed to happen again. I'll run the debug and see what's up.
