Cannot start FS2 Campaign - Missing 2 Ships

Hi. Sorry to be back so soon. I read the FAQ above, and tried to follow its advice, but I still cannot get FS2 to work. I played through the FS1 Port and Silent Threat: Reborn just fine, but I keep getting the missing two ship errors on the first load screen when I switched to play FS2 on 3.6.12.

I uninstalled, redownloaded, and reinstalled all the files (copy of FS2 retail, 3.6.12 files, Inferno and Standard build), and I still am getting the error on the new installation.

We need the entire fs2_open.log, can you search your harddrive for it?

This is wrong. There should be only one mediavps_3612 directory, they shouldn't be nested like this.

These files belong to the FSPort, and thus need to be in a directory called "fsport" in your FS2 folder. Please read the installation instructions for the FSPort carefully; I believe you followed the instructions for retail compatibility, not the ones that are intended for use with FSO.

We as a community need to prioritize some sort of automated installer that works even betterererer.

Turey's installer does work correctly.

We're not quite to the level of 'click install, click play'. Autogenerating configured shortcuts for various mods might help, for one.
