Concept Fighter becoming a model
Here, have a look.

Front perspective is scheiss, but I like the side look.



I was thinking of replacing those Sheepy-esque arms (see
Maeg's siggy) with maybe two guns on either side of the nose, and making it a thin profile light fighter.

Hmm, kind of Medusa-esque, innit?

The front elev. is a bit crap, but the side is cool.

What about sticking the missile pods on the underneath, mirroring the engines? Then put a couple of stubby guns on the nose, and it'd be awesome. Have it as a sort of high-speed intercept/precision strike craft, and make it really fast (90 - 100m/s?) with crappy armour, and maybe two really powerful guns on the front (you could make those as well, like a souped-up kayser or something). That would rawk.

Yeah, that's the sort of thing! Two huge-ass guns and a lot of engine. It's a good idea, and there's nothing else like it in the game, so it'd get used!

Ok, I actually started, and have made some progress. I should save it before I screw it up, like I always do. :p




Edit: Here's a preview. I did this in under 20 minutes and am quite proud of myself for not fux0ring up. More detail soon. I promise!

Ok, after 2 hours of modelling (that went by extremely fast!)

Have a looksy!



Next, I'll figure how I'm going about putting 2 guns on the bottomside, and then actually mapping this bad boy. (Or girl, depending on your mood) But that's for either tomorrow, or the next day... :D

That so looks like a Zeus MK2. Good work, considering I think the Zues looks amazing. Very nice man.

What I would suggest is that you add a beveled edge to the outside-top edge of the engines. As they are, they looks a bit too square. Other than that, top-notch

I don't know where I'm going with this one... I've got 4 versions of the model, 1 like the top, 1 from early developement, the one shown up top, and a more futuristic looking one.

The models look good, it's the textures that are hard to get done.
I've been using TS6's UVMapper tool, but it's hard to get them not to stretch or distort.

Edit: I've gone back to one of the base models, and am working from there. I like the idea of zeus textures, so I'll be doing my best to get something that looks halfway decent.

Not too bad for a my first player-flyable model, though? Is it?

Capships are so much easier...
