Did you play Blue Planet: Age of Aquarius?

Since there are 30+ missions in WiH, I hope most or all of them are longer than the very short ones in AoA. About 10 missions in AoA were short and without action. I hope we don't have that in WiH. The fact that it has 30+ missions explains why it will be at least a year until it is completely FREDed and released.

You need to add the 'show ship' flag to the ship's entry in ships.tbl or the appropriate -shp.tbm.

Yeah, what he said.

Ok, I guess you like very short missions. There is no facepalm about it. Those short missions were just there for story purposes that were very short additions to the story. Adding cutscenes to more missions accomplishes the same thing without shortening the missions, most of the time. And yes, WiH being 30+ missions does explain why it takes time to FRED. Again, no reason to facepalm.

It is a very good campaign, but that is one small drawback, in my opinion.

Can we get a moderator to remove some of this High Max spam?

Thanks.

Ok, I guess I was facepalmed because you think I was a little offtopic. But I'm not creating a new topic just to post what I had to say. Maybe I could have posted that in AoA though, but who cares? A little off topic isn't a big deal. This topic is about WiH or close enough.

Or maybe you think I'm fishing for answers. No, I'm just saying that I hope there won't be so many short missions. Got a problem with that?

No, adding cutscenes to missions makes them aggravating to replay when you fail because you have to sit through the something that's merely to proceed the plot a bit again and again. That's TERRIBLE if it can be avoided (and it can! those short missions!)

Short missions are not a problem.

You'll note in the Director's Cut that we now have advanced cutscene-skipping technology, though.

High Max: we're really making a push to keep all the War in Heaven missions less than two minutes long. That way, we can finish all 30 in a few sweet months!

Nice joke. :P That would be impossible anyways storywise unless we play Sync, especially knowing that we fight wars and have action packed missions in the BP series.

the short "story" missions are outstanding for emersion.  keep them.

We are not planning on ditching them any time soon.

They aren't too bad. I guess they are also required in AoA since some of them take place away from the 14th fleet and is personal between Samuel and the Vishnans. But since WiH is more about war, I would expect more action and less fillers. Also, there are probably no Vishnans in WiH. So I am pretty confident that WiH won't have many short missions.

Are you unable to post in this forum without trolling for plot details?

Anyway, more screenies please. :P

I'm not trying to fish for answers right now, but the topic should be broadened to include more variety of discussion than just screens, like changing it to 'WiH work in progress and screenshots'. There is no flexibility of chatter if it is solely discussing screens and is restricted to that.

Of course, as you say. More screenies please. That would be good too.

This is specifically a screenshot thread, not a general discussion thread.  It is the discretion of the OP whether to change it to screenshot and discussion.  This really isn't meant to have flexibility of chatter, it's for showing off eyecandy.  Discussion would be best served in another thread.

Let's not clutter the screenshots thread up with spam, k?
