Obsolete Inferno Ships
There have been many hundreds of models that have been taken out of Inferno and dumped into various places. Although some have been released in various packs, where are the ones that have not been released? I'm sure many are on numerous different CDs around Woo's rack, but there must be a few that could be easy to find.

I think that many people would like to see what these things look like and play around with them, as am I. While we're waiting for Alliance and Inferno SCP, why not release some? Perhaps some of the Inferno R1 campaigns like Steadfast are in need of a few models.

Of what has already been released, there is:

Carrier.pof - The original model for the Nemesis (believe it or not).
Chelob.pof - Basic mesh of a Shivan Manticore, Basilisk and Gorgon hybrid.
City1.pof - Prototype model for a city.
GateArachnas.pof - Stretched Knossos model, a Shivan Jump Gate.
Gigas.pof - The pre-R1 Gigas, a stretched Sathanas mesh.
mydock.pof - A ~300 poly dock.
Sehcat.pof - The GVSJ Sechat-Thor model, an Aten with a Sobek head stuck on.
zAndrogeos.pof - An Ancient vessel.

There are plenty of models from Reciprocity and OTT that can be downloaded and used with R1. The stuff I have left if it is useable is being configured for INF SCP use.

Also all the stuff you listed is really old crap from 2001 :D

I don't have the Reciprocity pack, if it was ever released. The OTT pack... dear me, it was real difficult trying to get my hands on it, because the topics were so old. :( And the fighters in the OTT pack were in a specific style, so I couldn't use them...

While surfing around, I also found a download called the Ancients Demo but the link was broken. I couldn't take a peek into the POF's for that one either...

I'm in need of POF's for my mod really. I have aldo's modeldumps, but I can't texture for crap (using TS3.2's Paint Face :lol:), and I can't model them either. Worse still, I don't have anything that can open MAX files (I tried Kara's FAQ. That program is only a 30-day trial).

When I convert the COB's in those dumps into POF, the sizes are always off, thruster textures are screwed up, there isn't a shield model that covers the whole ship, yada yada yada...

The Ancients demos were quick releases of the stuff used in R1, except for the first demo which was mostly old reskins which were also released in the past.

Well the stuff in the first post of this topic was done by me using TS1, which sucks even more than TS 3. I usually use TS5 for texturing capships as I can do them faster in TS, and I use max for fighters since TS is useless at those.

There's also sites like Hades Combine that host mods that you can have a look through.

There's hundreds of modded ships for FS2, and I did some work on a lot of them :D

Well I've already scoured sites such as HC, GW, Sectorgame (where I found the broken Ancients download) and even the old VW (Volkswagen Volition Watch XD) archives. It's not much but at least there's stuff looking into.

I tried converting aldo's GTF Skadi in the hopes of using it as a third-side rival to the Keres and the Ymir (the latter's also from the modeldump). At least the main ship textures were done, but the shield model didn't fit, and the thruster textures... Not to mention the size issues on conversion... :shaking:

:lol:, I just suck. I may or may not learn how to model/texture in the future, depending on the path I take in life later on.

Man, all this stuff has got me thinking about R2, especially the cockpitted fighters... >< and other daydreams like the Losna, a Kelpie with a cockpit... or even the cockpitted Alves with a high-res SOC texture so that we can keep the MediaVPs Erinyes... :lol:, Erinyes vs. Alves super battle... like Best Motoring's ancestor vs. successor battles, but in space instead of the racetrack xD

Well, I couldn't find any other stuff besides that, so I just stuck some examples up there. Besides, someone might want it (I quite like the Chelob, with a little more thought and less obvious modifications and splicings, would actually look really cool.

Woo, is the 'Mini Neph Thing' the Ojas? I never got a good look at the Ojas with the terrible quality of the trailers...

And can you pleeeze release something??? :sigh:

No, it takes me far longer to release something compatable with FS2 retail than anything else since I don't play the FS2 campaign anymore. I'd need to make everything compatable with the SCP media vps as well.

INFA will be my next release.

The Super Jug sucked and it's not in Inferno anymore (THANK GOD).

If the Colossus (6km) took 20 years to develop, how long would it take to create something 20km long? The Icanus construction wasn't even started during Alliance, so the longest construction time possible is 45 years. And with the Sol civil war going on, do you really think the EA would go through all the trouble to create a massive super juggernaut when the most dangerous ship they saw was the Lucifer? They didn't even see a Juggernaut, do you really think they would even have imagined something that was over six times the length of the biggest Shivan ship they've ever seen? The Icanus would need a infinately massive reactor to fire the USilv, not to mention its other defensive weapons.

Construction of the key components of the Icanus began way before the Icanus itself was designed.

About the Sechat Thor:the vasudans couldn't build it simply because it's too stupid.They would make a GTVSJ,another joint project.
Snail:It's defintely a wrong thing,and not realistic.The Colossus was long six km and the Sathanas five,but the Sath seems bigger.
Both the T...Icanus and the Gigas are long 20 km.
A superdestroyer is 2.5,3 kms long,about 150% of a normal destroyer.The SJ are almost four times a Juggernaut in length,only in length!
The strange thing is that they build warships of the same size,like if they know what the other does!
I thought,for example,that a Terran Super Juggernaut would be bigger than a Shivan one (20 km vs 15,for example)but like the Sathanas it looks bigger so its 15 km in length aren't a penalty.
There could be Super Juggernauts of different dimensions.The Icanus could handle a Gigas but two Gigas are too much for it...
