Hi Sorry, for the late reply and thanks for the warm welcome.
It's a bunch of filters and a workflow I've developed to recover those lost frequencies and also to get consistent results over many hundred files.

FYI, this functionality is now in recent FSO builds thanks to the work of Asteroth! You can toggle the in-game option by going to the Options menu and then clicking F3, and the flight mode option will now be listed there. Given this feature is now in engine, this script will no longer be updated. Thanks all!

i know the assets are not free. im testing out using the retail mission files as to make it easier for say anyone that has mods to import or just anyone that wants to use FRED to make missions. as well its also a learning experience for me.

Updated to 2.0.2

  • Fix warnings when viewing the mission log in some missions
  • Make the font size scale automatically based on screen size
  • Replace the font multiplier with a more fine-grained option
  • Make the pause on using the comms menu optional
  • Allow sending orders to Alpha wing in "The Will to Act"
  • Stop Cancer ramming Khayu after using "The Will to Act"'s checkpoint
  • Fix turret hotkeys not doing anything
  • Fix some minor issues in "El Chapo"
  • Ensure that checkpoint prompts respect keybindings
  • Ensure that "Groundhog Day"'s intro respects keybinds
  • Fix "Camp Angel"'s checkpoints not being available
  • Fix the debrief voice playing twice after viewing the mission stats
  • Fix a rare issue where a weapon wouldn't unlock properly in The Growing Silence

Although the frewspace engine was released as open source, the game assets are definitely still retail property.

in case anyone maybe still watching this thread. Im currently working on an ambitious project, part freespace, part 1st person shooter. using unity. i am using freespace as a starting off point, using the space combat kit from the unity asset store. its relatively cheap for what it provides. im working on a way to import freespace mission files right now. then parsing that data to connect to the kits code, like mission objectives and such. not sure if it will work seamlessly (hopeful), but its a start.
