Noob question- How to get cockpits on wing commander saga

I have been thinking of downloading wing commander saga after playing diaspora, the battlestar Galactica mod, and I was wondering where to get cockpits for the ships. It is my understand in that the base game of free space and wcs don't have cockpits at all and I would like to know where to start.

Good question. There should be a generic cockpit thread somewhere in Freespace Modding.

I think some of scooby_doo's old models have cockpits as well, so you might want to look into that.
