Title: new builds, clarity!!!!

ill start this with the word confused........................

i spend a little bit of time each week looking at new builds , quickly testing them (on my own) seeing that they login etc, and that they are capable of launching the game ....

but at the moment i see things that have been mantised and fixed creeping back in , but not all the time, is it possible that the host build can conflict with the build your using in game play..?

i thought the primary weapons cycling issue was fixed in a recent kara build, and when i played with jedimaster it seemed to be , but then when i played with colecampbell it reapeared its ugly head, i even stepped out to see that i hadn't started the game with the wrong build........


At the moment i think there are about 6 builds we can use in multi and i still find the one thats the most stable is the taylor xt build, it gives me the lowest ping and tends to bug less , i understand that this build is not part of svn , its only problem is it doesnt save stats....

if any of the coders read this please can you help me understand what build shoulkd we be bug testing in multi as some of the builds have add ons for fredders but no real changes for the players.

This (http://svn.icculus.org/fs2open/trunk/fs2_open/code/?sortby=file&view=query&dir=&file=&file_match=exact&who=&who_match=exact&querysort=date&hours=2&date=month&mindate=&maxdate=&limit_changes=100) may help a bit whenever you have a question like this again.

It's a log of the commits to the code over the last month. You don't need to understand most of it. All that really concerns you is the date, the name of the coder and the log message for the commit.

From that you can see that although I may have posted my fix for the primaries problem earlier I only committed it to SVN on Mon May 26th. Any builds that were built before that won't have my changes in them even though they came out after I first posted a build with the fix in it.

Currently I have no uncommitted code so there is no need to cling to any of my builds. Anything from after the 26th should have all my fixes in.

I got the weapons thing too, it was like "This ship has only one weapon!!!!!!1!!!1!!11" even when I didn't switch.

Using your newest build. And are Dedicated Servers supported yet?

Not yet. I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and make it a priority for the next few weeks.
