Please?
-
FAQ? Well, we don't have that many questions to have a list of the most frequent ones, so ask away! ;) :D
-
What are you guys up to?
-
Is Shrike really 'backing you up'?
-
Styxx: Yeah, like what's going on in the Reci forum right now. It's rather cool and I think every campaign should have it.
So, can you tell us some more about the story/setting/etc. ?
-
Silly KT, pretending to ask for a FAQ thread in everyone's interest when all he wants is freebies. Disgraceful! ;)
But. In the interest of topicality (not a real word) - here's one. I doubt I can coax any info about the Terra folks, or for that matter the storyline, out of you, so - what are the graphical/audio changes to the base game? What SCP features are you taking advantage of? Is there going to be a new soundtrack?
That should get you started..
-
actually all he wants to do is say this
why does FAQ un capitalised look like Fag?
-
Alik: Uh.. okay... :p
PhReAk: :D

Right now, I can say for sure that we have new cutscenes, new interface art (including a whole new Main Hall in the classic FS style), new models (for ships and installations), new weapon effects, new background effects, some fixes on things that were problematic on the standard FS2 (such as the subspace tunnel mapping problem), and more misc stuff, such as the low-orbit planetary models.
As for audio, we don't have much in the way of new developments, mainly because we lack the people to work on it, but we'll at least have new soundtracks for the cutscenes. I also don't plan to release the campaign until we have full voice-acting done.

Hm, lemme think. We're using all new map options (shine maps, glow maps, etc.). We're using the new beam features for animated beams. We plan to use the skybox support to its fullest, but work on it is not finished yet. We also plan to use all new cool engine effects and the like. But while some of our models are way above the normal FS2 polycounts, we're not going out of our way to add useless polys, so while HT&L will be useful, it won't be a requirement. I didn't have much time to follow the most recent developments (in the last month and a half or so), so I don't know if there's anything brand spanking new that we could use.

As I mentioned, at least for the cutscenes. We don't have plans for a new extended game soundtrack, but a couple of tracks for specific events are being considered.

I like the idea too. I needed something to force me back to work on this thing, thanks. :D

Well, I think we released everything we could about the story without compromising the surprises I wanted to keep for the campaign on the website. But basically, the story starts with the discovery of a badly damaged fighter with a barely alive pilot far, far away from home, in the middle of the chase for a rogue GTVA ship... Things should get more interesting from that point on as a religious movement starts to raise some ruckus, and one of the Alliance's most important projects reaches its conclusion...
;)

Oh just ignore my question why don't you ;)
-
I think he just did. :p
But I believe the answer is 'yes'. Can't be quite sure, though.

-
do u guys need any hlp in da way of voice acting, or beta testing?
-
We WILL certainly need that help. We tried gathering actors and testers before, but without being able to dedicate to it full time and having a fixed timetable, it's hard to know when they'll be needed. I'll surely post on the forums when we reach that stage for certain.
-
Yeah, and us voice actors are a rare breed, too. ;)

no worries. if/when u need me, drop me a line [email protected]
