How to use highres maps on FSPort with Linux?
Hi guys! I've recently discovered FS SCP, dug out my old copy of FreeSpace 2 and now I have a working setup on my Linux Ubuntu 8.10 laptop. I've also downloaded the FSPort files and I'm able to run them successfully. One thing, though, there are no instructions on how to use the highres maps with the Linux setup. Anyone know how I can accomplish this? Thanks!

Uh, are you referring to the FSPort MediaVPs and the regular MediaVPs? If yes, install both according to the instructions, preferrably so that the FSPort MediaVP is in \freespace2\fsport_mediavps\, other FSPort stuff is in \freespace2\fsport\ and the regular MediaVPs are in \freespace2\mediavps\. Then, use the command-line parameter "-mod fsport_mediavps, fsport, mediavps"(without the quotation marks)  when running FSO.

Re: How to use highres maps on FSPort with Linux?
If you're running FSOpen on a computer manufactured in the past five years or so, skip the high res maps and go straight for the Media VPs. Follow the instructions for installing them, then use your command line to set them up in the right order, as Lobo mentioned.

I have the MediaVPs installed. So, I guess I don't need the highres maps... Oops, I didn't specify them in the command line, so that's why I must have felt the need for them. Thanks Lobo, Galemp!
