Stuttering when heads are talking in flight?
I'm getting stuttering when heads are talking in flight.  Any ideas?  Is it as simple as turning off vsync?

Yup, IIRC, vsync aught to do it.

Enabling the FPS counter (-fps command line option) may also "fix" it  :wtf:

If you try that and it does work, would you mind adding a note to the mantis issue?

(oops - just realized this is in the WCS forum - I haven't seen the launcher yet so -fps may not be available)

Re: Stuttering when heads are talking in flight?
You can always add it as a custom command line (if that box is included in the WCS launcher, which I don't see why it wouldn't be, but I don't know).

Re: Stuttering when heads are talking in flight?
Nah no command line like in the generic freespace launcher unless I missed it.  Turning off v-sync fixed things.  :)  Thanks.

You don't need the launcher to add custom command line flags

The cmdline config file is located in the My Documents/Volition... folder.

There is a code-side bug that can cause this which may not be present in WCS' fork. I'm not sure how it interacts with vsync though so you could be right.

Re: Stuttering when heads are talking in flight?
also i have generally Vsync on !!

FSO 3.6.13 - latest build Problem occured (3.6.12 Final No problem)
WCS no problem

i hope this will be helpfully ;)

Re: Stuttering when heads are talking in flight?
Well I had to turn vsync off to get it smooth.  No big deal, really.  Simple to fix, FUN to play!  ;)
