About ****ing time we won something, I don't even like Rugby all that much but that was a game and a half. Having a ****ing coronary here.
Now I have a (semi) legitimate excuse to get drunk again. WooHoo

What's rugby?
Come on you Gooners!
-
football Brit style ;)
who gives a sh** about rugby anyway........ of well congratz england....
-
It's important because it's the first time since the 1966 World Cup (Football) that England have won a World Cup in any sport.
-
well its better than any cleveland sports teams
Indians (Baseball) - last won World Series in 1948
Browns (Football) - won the National Championship in 1964, 1 year before Super Bowl started.
Cavs (Basketball) - always sucked. got to the playoffs in the early '90s
well at least we have the buckeyes

World Cup, England, football. This thread brings back good memories.

Bah.
I was locked out of work this morning in the rain for a good hour because the idiot with the keys was sitting at home watching the game.
I don't see the point... It'd at least be a little better if people actually went out and played these sports themselves instead of sitting watching...

It's called entertainment.
-
and gambling
-
I call entertainment keeping people entertained, not patriotic gluing to TVs as some people run around and kick something.

I take it you were never any good at sport then? Anyway, if people are sitting watching it, they are being entertained, there for it must be entertainment .....

Ach I'm glad England are doing well. Frankly I'm still commiserating Scotland's performance in Football against Holland. Christ that was a mess...

the reason why rugby players don't wear pads is beacuse there aren't any 300lb lineman jumping on you
-
*comedy note; Maeglamor does not watch rugby or gridiron and thus is making a blind statement with only jest in mind*

....... sure theres not  ;)

Ha ha ha. I sure as hell wouldn't want Jonah Lomu (sp?) or Laurence Delallio jumping on me.
-
I sure wouldn't want Ray Lewis within 500 feet of me
-

:wtf: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111....
:wtf: :wtf:
Umm, yes there are. Have you ever played rugby? Even at under 16 level there are a good few monsters of a player on the go. Myself included (though i don't play under16 anymore, ofcourse)
-
you think i was being serious? I don't know the roster limitations in rugby, but in football you are allowed 53 men on a team and you need to keep them intact through the season (4 preseason + 16 regular season + 4 post season). Its not uncommon to get torn tendons and broken bones and that puts people out for the season. thats with pads and such. if they didn't wear pads then the season would last like two weeks before everyone is incapacitated
