Wait, what? Why beer end?! This is one of the thing that should never happen! Meh, I wish I have a cure for that :P. But instead I have one for some other issue - lack of cool models. To be precise, I am the cure.

Want some ship data? We're working on dedicated FSWiki section for Exile related content. For now you can get familiar with three of new ships from our modpack - Agneya (http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/index.php/ORFA_Agneya), Solomon (http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/index.php/EFFg_Solomon) and Pluto (http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/index.php/ORGT_Pluto)!
And I can assure you, this is not everything that we have. Oh no :P

Into the Dark Waters is now in it's last and final stage of development before the release :D

It's been a while since the last big update.
After some time of inactivity, development of Exile is back at full speed. We decided to switch our narration style to more character-driven, including much more plot details in form of fiction viewer entries, introduce new characters and include much more focus on the other side of the conflict - Earth Federated Nations.
We also decided to rework some missions, change their style etc. Here is some mystery screenshot from completly rewritten M01 called The Eclipse:

EFC Viscount joined the Earth Federated Nations fleet and it's now second cruiser class alongside with Evangelist. Simple model with just 12k polys, but it's fits general EFN theme. Original model by SolCommand buffed by myself a little bit.

i realy wanna try this mod but i don't find any downloads for it. Still in some closed beta or so?

Apart from a few ships we've released so far the mod is still in the making (we are now testing the missions and many of them are already polished). I don't know how about the rest of the team but I'm so far stalled by the university stuff (I almost graduated. And when I do I'll have to find a job and that won't help my texturing efforts either but... no choice :P)

Sadly, Into the Dark Waters is still in final stages of development. Modpack is fully ready, missions are 95% done. Our main FREDer is resting after university stuff.
We're on the last lap anyway. Very long last lap, but I guarantee the final effort is worth the waiting :P.

And the progress is going on straight to the release. We started integration EFD Talos into the missions to replace older destroyer. Everything is tested and working properly. We need to change some things in 2-3 missions, and Into the Dark Waters will be ready.

Added pre-release notes about gameplay features, to make Exile more instinctive. Go ahead and introduce with them in introduction thread (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=91646.0). They are in the first post, below main mod features.

We're in the middle of adding stuff to techroom. Campaign is ready. Still, we want to add lots of intel to give ya folks something to read. Actually a lot :P

We also want to apologize for neverending delays and thank for trust of HLP Administration. This project was in-development for year longer than we expected, so we're glad that we're finally done :).

It's been a while...
Patch 1.2 is almost ready. This one, called "The English Update" features conversion of ItDW from polgrish to english [literally :D ], some model updates, new effects and tons of fixes :]. It will be available for standard download and via Knossos in a few days,

The English Update is released on Knossos [as 1.0.3]. Especially for those who don't understand polgrish. Standard, non-knossos download should be updated tomorrow.

I think there's a high-res version of Yarflak somewhere, and the mod it originally came from replaced it with a different effect, so there shouldn't be a problem with using the high-res version of that one...

I have both hi-res textures and hi-res effects somewhere on my HD but I can't find either of packages. We downsized majority of bitmaps in current release of ItDW for better performance. If I ever manage to find them, I will upload both.

When you say you posted the update link, do you mean the Knossos link or the link for non-Knossos users (1.2)?
Secondary question, for non-Knossos users, is this on the Installer?

It's not on FSOInstaller. I currently don't know how to add my stuff to this, and I am lacking time to learn.

Cool. Where is version 1.2 at? The Library thread only displays a link and says Knossos 1.0.3.

Look a few posts above. 1.0.3 = The English Update = 1.2.

I think such stuff is usually provided in "Core" named files, but I dunno if it's relevant.

I ask because unless you renamed/removed all ships from retail, the issues (atleast those regarding the plot details) are still there...

I know for sure that I forgot about this explosion flashes. I will add those in next update. Rest should be done, except for that economy thing. Unregulated economy is part of official Syndicate propaganda, same as neo-buddhist Equilibrium philosophy so this parts stays.

Something weird is going on...exile downloaded like a charm on knossos, but the mod doesn't see my joystick. I have it enabled in knossos but it will not work ingame (it works with my other mods). However it works in wxlauncher. I just uploaded a debug to fsnebula if you wish to look at it

I'm not expert in that matter. Except for that hud gauges error that we have no idea how to fix, everything looks normal. It may be some sort of Knossos error.

Guess what? Turns out I didn't activate my FSO build. The mod now sees my joystick after testing it in the control config settings :)

Unfortunately not.
I have whole "Exile Hi-Res" folder on my HD where textures and effects are supposed to be... But it's empty. And I have no idea why.
I probably stored those files on my network HD drive long time ago, than forgot about it. Unfortunately this HD also had issues an crashed several times. I'm afraid those files are lost.

Thanks to the effort of Admiral Nelson, writing skills of Su-Tehp and assistance of team of testers - Iain Baker, Fusion, MatthewF, JCDNWarrior and thivvs, I'm pleased to announce that 2.0.0 of Into the Dark Waters is going online :]. It's supporting recent builds and operates under just released MVPs 4.7.X.
