This started out as a render for the GTB Eris, a re-skin by Ice Heart, but its role evolved as I kept working on it

Evolved? I'll say. I'm still sortof stunned, give me a while and I'll try to come up with SOMETHING that needs fixing... excellent work!

P.S. Judging picture quality will be difficult/impossible this weekend due to the fact that the computer I am using has a really dark monitor. So, I miss the finer details...

I WILL come up with something you can fix, I promise.

Well, there are Athena bombers flying around...they were virtually obselete at the end of the Great War.

Those are Eris-class bombers, Shrike - designed as an answer to the Nahema, Ice Heart gave them a cruising speed of 80m/s.

Nonono!!!! If you want to make an athena mk2, please make some model changes! New skins are not enough I think. One exemple? Hercules mk1/mk2  . Or dark's appolon mk2 (even if I don't really like the design, the work is in there).

Venom, don't jump to conclusions! Not only is the GTB Eris not even named the Athena Mk2, The real Athena Mk2 is in production by Warlock, not Ice Heart, who only does reskins. Here is the beta of the Athena Mk2:

I'm still looking for something to criticise. This is in the running for the best FS art I have ever seen, but there STILL has to be something that needs improvement that I could point out...even the engine glows all look right. I'll leave this one as my desktop for a while...

Good to see that you're still doign renders, Setekh. At first, I thought it was just an Athena bomber that has been reskin. Actually it is.

I think I recognised the skin on it as being the ones from the Deimos class corvette.
